So true there is nothing like a grandmother and her love. My grandmother has been gone since 1985 and I still think about her at some point in every day. My grandmothers name was Enola, she was 1st lady to my grandfather who was a Pastor. Some of my family calls me Enola Jr. because I am all about the family and making sure we stay close as a family. I wear the name proudly with honor 😇

Movies to enlighten our masses, wake us up and to educate us has fallen by the wayside. I recall, as a kid, when black folks were more loving towards each other and had a stronger spirituality base. IDK, granted there are more single parent households now, and the roles for parenting have increased in responsibility due to this. I believe that for our people to get a leg up on this, self-love and love for each other is a force now to contend with, but it can be done.

But not every black families reality this day and time, so its nice to see a black family being portrayed living a normal life.

This came out when I just started first grade! I was so scared to start school then. Now looking back, i would love to be back in 1976 during those better times, simpler times with the elders that are no longer around. I feel so sorry for these generations of today. They know nothing! Great wholesome movie! Thanks for posting great content as always!

This was a great movie. Never seen it before, but I definitely enjoyed the message, the love and the principals. Also loved how they kept Cecily, and Junior together, as he was originally her son in Sounder. I love that. Natural Chemistry!

I throughly enjoyed this movie, on a lazy, rainy Saturday afternoon. It brings on feelings of joy and unity towards all people. Also, it shows Mr. Van Peebles softer side.

BET NEED TO STEP UP THEIR GAME. THEY NEED TO SHOW MORE MOVIES LIKE THIS INSTEAD OF RERUNS AND THE SAME MOVIES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I DID NOT KNOW THIS MOVIE EXISTED! THESE MOVIES WOULD DO WELL ON WEEKENDS! “JUST SAYIN”

In BET's defense, they're not own and operated by black people anymore. So, the don't know any better.
