Great video and as always, very informative. I'm curious as to what method you use to clean up the record cover so well, without the risk of damaging it?
@ElvisPresleyInJapan11 ай бұрын
The cover is fully laminated so I just used a wet tissue with a bit of alcohol in it.

Hi David, l have learnt more about Japanese Elvis pressing’s again today! Thank you. I’m looking forward to getting your book from The Elvis Shop London. Which should be quite soon. When l see a different variant of Elvis record l can’t help myself but buy it. I don’t think it’s crazy, but my husband does! If l won the lottery l would be flying off round the buying Elvis variant’s. But l am fussy, they must be in very good condition NM for me. Hope you and your family are keeping safe. Ellie. 🎼🎶🎵🕺🏻❤️😃👍

Hi, Ellie. It won't be long now until the books are shipped, hopefully this coming week. Yes, collecting records can seem crazy to them what don't do it, but I know what you mean about finding variants. Thanks for watching.

@@ElvisPresleyInJapan there were so many more 1750 yen Victor reissues than i expected… i’m afraid i’ll feel to urge to collect them as well 🥲 looking forward to the book… heard it’s very soon 😁

These are hard to get on JP auctions. Thanks again for the review. Nicely cleaned up. The late reissues in Australia had shrinking laminated creases . With flimsy cardboard album covers. And very thin vinyl with horrible sound. ☹The Japanese got it right with the laminate. Looking forward to the Japan Hawaii book. Hope you guys can track the Japanese TV crew who professionally film Elvis in 1972 Hawaii concert show. Plus access to Elvis dressing room. Now lost in the Japan tv archives.🤔
@ElvisPresleyInJapan11 ай бұрын
It's always amazed me how the Japanese laminated covers never get any laminate lift like you see on some UK covers. They just nailed the design. I've never seen that '72 footage that you mentioned. Probably lost forever.
@henryfong347111 ай бұрын
@@ElvisPresleyInJapan if you are in touch with the photographer and the others involved making the Japan Hawaii book it would be a big seller. Elvis is in the pastel blue jump suit. The Japanese film crew showing Hawaii then to the dressing room before the concert. Bootleg scene it's been circulating.

Hi Dave,al keep a lookout for those 17.50 price albums although a don’t see many Japanese pressing at record fairs tha few n far between ,n me chances o seeing any of those you featured a would think are extremely remote,lovely album that tho golden records ,it’s in me top 3 defo,bit o trivia Dave you may know but EL wasn’t the first artist with a golden records album it was Perry como with his golden records ,although a don’t think he had a vol 2,3,4 n 5 ,I actually think the UK pressing of the album is superior to the Japanese release ,the only time it happened tho for me ,ad love FTD to reproduce it ,wether they would a don’t ,cost a fortune to reproduce that album sleeve in its original form,lovely video as usual ,some lovely n rare albums on show here ,lucky man Dave 🎶🎸👍

Hi, Tony. Yes, I'm lucky to be here. Japan is one of the best places in the world to look for records, not only for all the Japanese records but because there are many imports you can find here too. I agree with you on the UK version of GR. The cover's great (the first release, that is) and the sound is too. Maybe they spent more on it with it being a Red Seal release. I think an FTD reissue would go down well with fans also because of the different tracks to the US version. Cheers, Tony.

Another great video…. I notice that no obi’s were shown. Were they not available on this album? I have a strange aversion to non-obi sleeves and do not buy any albums that do not have any 😬😱

The first copies came with a great red obi, very rare in fact, but the later ones never turn up with obis. I suspect they never had one.

Studio album 💿 are a book 📕 📖 📚. Song title plus numbers equals 🟰 chapters and album title equal 🟰 book 📕 title and lyrics equals details. Numbers plus Song title equals 🟰 Chapters Lyrics equals Details. Album 💿 title equals 🟰 book 📕 📖 📚 title. In my opinion the number is a chapter which means a main division of a book, typically with a number or title while the song title is a song title more of chapter 1 leaning towards book 📕 📖 📚. For me as a listener studio album 💿 and book 📖 📕 are the same. Because both books and studio albums have a song title and a number right next to it which is book 📕 📖 📚 and chapter.

I read the lyrics and then I listen to the lyrics and then I look and listen over and over again and I still look at the credit too. Who is on the album 💿 and the song title and numbers equals chapters is because David it matched lile you’re listening to a studio album 💿 but the lyrics are telling a story that’s where details the lyrics comes in. Lyrics equals 🟰 to details which is facts about the artist what is true about the artist like lord almighty I feel my temperature rising that’s the way how Elvis was feeling when he wrote burning love.@@ElvisPresleyInJapan
