Back then this was how they did the costumes, with the performers wearing certain colors (mostly black and blue) instead of the actual colors as there was no full concept of the map, so it would be easier to change the colors later on

its because they dont individually change the colour of each part of the oulfit, they just shift the hue i think

they do this with all the costumes, if you look at other behind the scenes videos you can see all the costumes in their costume room are completely different colours than they are in game! I assume it's a contrast thing for the editors to make their job a little easier so they can see what they're doing better. Lotsa work goes into making each map for this game so I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff hehe (edit): Oh also possibly could be if the coach is meant to have green colours in-game they have to make it not green in-person to not conflict with the green screen behind them

Back in the first game they didn’t do the white body for the dancers. You can tell the first JD was very low budget so they probably didn’t have a makeup team (as the faces didn’t show in the game anyway). They edited it very differently back then
