And for Rihanna, it is indeed copyright : Rihanna signed with Dance Central (Just Dance main opponent at the time) an exclusivity contract that led DC to have Rihanna's catalogue for themselves, Just Dance couldn't have a single song. The contract was going to expire since Dance Central didn't have new games but out of nowhere Dance Central VR was announced and released on Oculus Rift, and so the exclusivity still runs.

To be frank, with how Michael Jackson's reputation fell after his death (especially after **that** documentary) I don't think Ubisoft is eager to licence his songs to be put in Just Dance Unlimited. Also, it would involve negociating with Yoni Jayl (who is the main dancer) but it would be hard since he left Just Dance team around 2018...

Yoni is only the dancer. Ubisoft doesn't need his permission to put the Michael jackson songs in just dance + or unlimited. They just need the music licences. Aland also yoni has been in lots of other just dance maps. Like the other side that is a jd2014 dlc. Thats on unlimited

Great vid! However, the JD 1 - 3 maps are not quite remade "from the ground up". They use the same video recordings as the original, even on the ones that look completely different. So some maps, they decided to edit the footage in JD4's style instead of JD 1-3 style because the original video footage was good enough for them to do that.

I remember when Ubisoft suddenly created these guidelines for players of Just Dance on how they would upload their footage of their gameplay to their channel. Like one rule is that the gameplay footage must be like on the side and much smaller in the video and the main focus is a footage of you/the player dancing on it. Most gameplay footage before that was uploaded here on KZbin is just basically the Actual Gameplay footage captured from their console. I don't know why they would probably release that... Maybe Copyright concerns or whatever.

One interesting thing that wasn't mentioned was songs that were scrapped in earlier years and then had new releases either with more polish or an entirely different concept: There was a Katy Perry VIP for the song 'I Love It' that seemed to not come to fruition. Run the World (Girls) was intended to release in JD 2021, but was held back to 2022 and a lot of songs got delayed or scrapped and later released in just dance 2023, like 'Driver's licence' (Originally going to be in JD2022), Boy with Luv (Originally going to appear in JD2020 with different coaches and map), and Rather Be (Originally going to appear in JD 2015, there is little to no information about it but it is safe to assume it was also going to have a very different appearance). A more recent iteration of this is Sweet Dreams that seems to be featured in the background of 'If you want to party' in JD 2023, but has not been released yet, and 'Love again', which is also referenced in advertising and early promotion for JD 2023, but has not yet been released, however both of these choreographies in full are leaked online.

More things to talk about: - Beginner: Beginner by AKB48 was originally meant to be released for just dance wii 2, but it got scrapped. Some people say is that it got scrapped due to the controversial PV of the song, but it isnt really accurate since there's no evidence of the reason why this map got scrapped in the first place. The only snippet of this map would be a youtube video, and the full map has not been leaked. - Korean Just Dance 3: The Korean Version of Just dance 3 *Does* exist but it is very obscure, having zero gameplay of this specific game, Not sure if this could have some korean songs on this specific version of the game, Who knows. - KPOP Dance Festival: A similar thing about this is KPOP Dance festival, Which was only released in korea on the wii, While there IS Gameplay videos on youtube, not much people really know about this game, probably because it was only released in one region only and nowhere else. - Sweet Dreams: Sweet dreams was a beta song that was meant to be released in just dance 2023, But it got delayed and reimplemented now as "Darkest hour" In just dance 2024, I'm sure that this song got reimpletemented due to copyright reasons. Funnily enough, the community was not happy about this change because this map and choreography was made for sweet dreams. - White joycons: A weird thing about Just dance 2017 on the switch is that when you're selecting a controller type. (either a joycon or a phone) You would see white joycons, which is funny because there are no white joycons for the nintendo switch. (And no the OLED Joycons dont count because that came in like 2022) - Bald Avatar Glitch: another weird thing about just dance 2017 on the switch would be that sometimes, when you load a unlimited song, a yellow bald avatar would flash during the song, making the song unplayable. Its kind of a mystery why this glitch even happens on the switch, but yeah if that happens just restart the console. - You're on my mind Original Choreo: The Just dance 2015 Mash-up only song "You're on my mind" was going to have a original choreo and map, but it possibly never released and only had the mash-up, while there could be some evidence of this original choreo, the only evidence would be a new song being a mash up without a original choreo.

Trying to remember if there was anything you could mention that you didn't hit here hmmmm - all that comes to mind is the bizarre history of horrible song covers and the one or two times where they revealed that a song wouldn't be a cover and it ended up being a cover anyway in the final release - also the times when a song got fake leaked and ended up being in a later game anyway (dragostea din tei JD2014 comes to mind) also just the history of all the WEIRD leaks that most of us just believed for some reason early on lmao OOOH also those behind the scenes they did for the gameplays in JD2016 and then literally never did again (like on the gameplay videos themselves they would talk a bit about the map/idea beforehand or after the gameplay trailer)

I need to point out some stuff you missed too -2015 cannot be played with the controller app anymore -The just dance china version has jd2015 and jd2017 versions but jd2020c is the one used as a base now. -mods are also popular for putting in new songs like fanmade dances but sometimes jokingly -the baby one more time beta was originally made to be the base routine instead of the dance crew, also some footage was seen through the promotion for jd3 to guess what dancer was for each song -most routines that are beta will never return unless ubisoft remakes the whole dance. -besides the replacing songs with ubi made songs, sometimes ubisoft removes the covers of original songs to unlimited or jd+ like toxic or mambo n.5 -astylia, is helpful to the lore and also the jd team released a lore video recently -most of the doftw hacks were by yunyl, devd, mitchy or more hackers which are infamous in the community with discord servers. -the daddy jd2 version was never meant to be danced to, it was only made to be promotional content -the creativity workshop was meant to pop jd2015 more, but you can see mostly i love it was the one to come out of it -closer was a jd2018 beta as well -the radical beta was leaked fully by "keloke" and was removed for the bg being to bright and seizure inducing, the sorry beta was removed due to the limit of most maps being 2 alternatives and ubi didn't know what to do with it, titanium alt was removed for the bg being seizure inducing too -Yunyl, devd, mitchy, keloke, and another one i can't remember the name of. -go to jddanceh's channel and you can see her attacking me for no reason, as well as a video from jyp showing how dense they are, with others like potatoland, invaulted, hugostardance, and more being drama inducing -whatsapp remix became a fake leak in jyp's server after being made by a youtuber -the baby delivered thing could've been something to lore, though something interesting was brought up recently of how the song Veuguls by K3 in jd2023, one of the coaches did the dance while pregnant but the book was made before jd2023 -One more thing, there's multiple rip off games of just dance made because of how popular it is

17:12 (Unseen parts of the map) Just wanted to add this on for fun; I don't even know why I noticed this, but in the original choreography for Rock'n'Roll (Will Take You to the Mountains) for Just Dance 4, the coach freezes at the end of the song after they strike the last golden move. However, in a mashup of the same song, they use the original coach for 3 of the moves. This includes the final move, which for whatever reason, the JD team forgot to freeze. So you see the original Rock'n'Roll coach panting and moving at the end of their song! The more you know~ ✨🌠
