the reason just dance has still been releasing for the Wii isnt really that bizarre i think i read the main reason is for nursing homes, since the Wii provided a fun and easy way for the elderly to be active.

I love that reason. I really appreciate that they released so many games for the Wii even as the console was left behind. I don't have a Nintendo console any newer than the Wii, and I also love and cherish the vibes of the Wii.

also for children’s hospitals! wii’s are still easily accessible by children’s hospitals and elderly facilities, so ubisoft kept releasing games up until 2020 to accomodate them!!

I think the only thing that has gone downhill is the UI, at least on the Wii. JD 2016, 2017, and 2018 have incredibly long loading times in comparison to 4 and 2014. (Perhaps this is just my console? It's not an issue with other games, though, so I think not.) The background and general UI are nearly the same across all three games besides some color changes, and they all share the same sound effects and songs. I'd love it if they differentiated each other a bit. 2016 and 2017 are basically the same game to me due to the similarity. Edit: menu songs, not dance songs

Well as Just Dance player I can tell you... It depends what is the worst and what is the biggest or what even how the saga is getting better... Cause JD 2014 is still the best game of the main games and JD 2015 and JD 2018 are the worst... Even JD 2023 Edition is something that it can considered good or bad depending on what factor or which area you want to discuss.

I was very nervous while watching this one because I was scared that the review of 2023 and 2024 would be very negative - it’s an insanely common sentiment (that I heavily disagree with). I’m so happy to see you liked them! I sadly can’t play them myself outside of KZbin because I only own a Wii, but whenever I dance them from KZbin they’re super fun to do, and the graphics have improved so much!

It is mostly because of how buggy the recent games have been, with it being a new engine. It also has to do with how it didn’t have many modes or content that were present in the previous games (World Dance Floor, Sweat Mode, Lack of songs in JD+ on launch day for JD2023) Tho I will admit that I love the recent jd games and love the production of all the maps, even the joke maps

The community believes that 2023 and 2024 are the worst because Ubisoft did not make an effort to improve what we already had before. The profiles, the menu, the dances and so on are very nice, but everything seems like special effects when see the experience. Do you know how much they talk about good dances, game modes, base and seasonal content, bug fixes, online connection, good story, optimization of the game itself and more from their gay basic culture memes and posts? Mostly of them more intresting than THE GAME.

I’ve been a fan of JD since JD2018 and it is wild seeing how JD has always been constantly improving, even it’s by a little bit with each game. (JD 2018 has my favorite ui but I still agree with the song list being a little lackluster) It is quite refreshing to see how it’s like for a player who isn’t really in the JD community, especially with the recent JD games and it just seems so interesting to see how the Just Dance franchise is like from someone who wasn’t really following the games in real time. I know the recent ones get a lot of criticism from the community but I just can’t help but love the recent ones, including some of the alternatives. (Cure For Me paper alt ily) They really made the story and lore for the recent JD games so good, especially since it was done by one person at the time. It fr makes me happy to see that JD still has that charm that the older games had on several JD players.

Fun fact about JD2023E: the 2023 version for toxic (the one at 1:28:36) was created by the JD team with the help of a famous JD content creator from France known as TheFairyDina. She, of course, is a fan of JD and a huge fan of Britney Spears. When the JD team asked for her help she was very excited and eager to do it. She even makes a cameo appearance in the background around where you enter the first class of the plane (the one around 1:29:08 where she will be seen in a hot tub). This is also why the coach is known as ”Agent D” simply because the “D” in the name stands for “Dina” Thought that would be something nice to bring up

Just Dance Unlimited is removing tons of songs August 1st when the license expires. I think they've already been removed from Just Dance Now. ALSO, as of July 1st 2024, Playstation and Xbox users won't even be able to purchase Just Dance Unlimited anymore. So, if you don't have it downloaded for your 2019-2022 versions, do that now! Notable songs going away: Bailando, Barbie Girl, Boombayah, Can't Stop the Feeling, Cotton Eye Joe, Die Young, Forget You, Gangnam Style, Happy, I Don't Feel Like Dancin, Lay All Your Love on Me, Levitating, Love Story, Mamma Mia, Montero, Old Town Road, Starships, ,Super Bass, Taki Taki, Tik Tok, Uptown Funk, and Womanizer. That's just a list of my favorites that are going away, they are removing around TWO HUNDRED SONGS. Some of these songs are literally on the cover art for JD2022, so that I don't understand lmao. I really hate this era of game companies being able to take away things you already paid for.

I always thought Just Dance wasn’t anything special and just a casual yet harmless game series. But theres lore in the later games and effort in some of them too? I had no idea how visually stunning the backgrounds are and theres a lot of love and care put into them. I just thought these would be the Fifa of rhythm games where it would be the same copy and paste stuff every time. But once again I'm proven wrong and theres always more to them than just another casual party game.

Just Dance 2015 is not perfect, in fact it's not even on my top 3 but my god I can't believe out of all things to criticize it for you chose the backgrounds. I think they're pretty good if not one of the best eras for the franchise in terms of backgrounds. Voids can work if they're distinct enough from each other, which I think they are. Even Just Dance 2014 had a few with don't you worry child, wild or we can't stop, feel this moment, among others. Also a lot of the voids are 3d which really help at selling the depth, which other games really fail at doing. -Diamonds I think is gorgeous, the glistening rainbow effects that the background and coach produce is insanely beautiful -Addicted to you wouldn't have worked in any other way other than that sultry glittery void imo, where the light follows the coach in a delicate and enchanting manner, almost like it's an extension of the coach, like wings. The void makes the grand moves feel more appropiate as the space is big enough to acommodate it. -Black widow follows the spider theme to a T, I love how the coach interacts with the webs as she moves. Camera work is flawless -Built for this has this psychydelic 80's feel that's combined with the 2010's neon craze which I think looks nice. -I love it isn't even a void(? Idk why that was included in there, yeah it's kind of abstract but I think that goes with the lowkey alien look they tried to give to the coach. Also really good camera work A song where I'm absolutely trashing the devs is you're on my mind, which is literally a mashup only song. As a kid I thought that gimmick was fine but looking back it would've been so cool to get an actual MAP. As for the songlist, I thought it was pretty nice! Only thing is I wish there was more pop songs instead of the overload of goofy songs like xmas tree or speedy gonzalez, now THOSE are rotted. What I think Just Dance 2015 biggest weakness is is it's lack of game modes compared to JD 2014 or 4

one quick note on jd15, sweat mode did also allow to activate the cal counter while playing the game as usual (like in jd14) as well as having the playlists so its more of an addition to the mode instead of changing it completely

I'm glad I watched this, I was a bit salty about some changes they made (specifically the way they went about dlc) and I wrote off so many of these games. But this retrospective made me see the dedication they took for each game and the upgrades. I will be trying the new games more fairly and I have a new appreciation of this series. I loved it early on glad to bring it back.

57:02 It's not by Hatsune Miku, she doesn't make the songs because, she's just a virtual voice. Also, it's only a cover, the song itself was made in 1928 long before Miku became a thing, and was written by Eini Kettunen to a traditional polka tune. Miku was tuned in the 2007 cover by Otomania ^^

yooo, the bep experience and hip hop dance experience on 360 are actually really good and waaaay better than the wii version 🥺🥺 the bep one is miles apart, and despite tracking problems and some annoying repeating moves is a very unique spin off the hip hop one have the same visuals, but in hd, but the tracking is waaaayyyy better than it was on bep experience, also, the 360 version have harder choreos, some of the harder ones in the entire franchise!! also, make it jingle for me is that type of thing that it's so bad and absurd that makes it gold, I swear, for weeks I couldn't get that fat ass twerk off my mind lol also, thank you so much for the video!! so great to see a genuine review of the franchise, especially coming from someone new to the games, you did an amazing job and it shows!!
