It's only slightly larger than him, if at all, though it often looms above him. The manga often draws THE WORLD to be 2 or 3 times its real size for dramatic effect, though. Eyes of Heaven sort of replicates that with camera trickery.

But the real question we should be asking if Giorno is the “son” of DIO than how come Gold Experience (or Golden Wind to avoid lawsuits) doesn’t also pose the ability to stop time like THE WORLD

Stands are based on personality and a strong sense of self so dio and jotaro will ofcourse have combat experience and be able to topple diego.
