Naverno k domu zima dorozhki vse zamela.
(X2) V nebe nad Groznym tayut zvezdy v luchakh zari,

@@pneitkrietnako9970 "Black" humor (quoted here because it's not really black humor) helps us overcome bad times and cope with misfortune. Why do you think so many people tell self-deprecating jokes or laugh about horrendous events, such as hunger, war, misery or poverty? It is psychologically very helpful to laugh at bad shit because otherwise we'd be crying and raging over situations that are out of our control, so it's way better to accept it and face it with a smile; it's better to get some joy. Besides that, you're on the internet, you'll find jokes about pretty much everything as recent as it is (just a couple of days ago some guy in my country died inside of a dinosaur statue next to a cinema and the comments were all laghing at it)

@@alexswagger939 there's nothing like a ultra muslim or radical muslim. There are muslims who are loyal to their belief and there are who change their belief to please the infidels. Isis is not a muslim state since they contradicted prophet's teaching about war and showing mercy on who surrenders or doesn't fight back. Also in 1st chechen war it wasn't really about building islamic state but was battle for chechen independence. After 1st chechen war and mostly during 2nd war more muslims joined them to build islamic chechen state.

This song makes me really sad, because of a story that my dad told to me. During 1991 when yugoslavia broke away and when a war broke out, my family all went away to live in spain with our cousins, my grandpa was left there to protect the city they lived in they were kept in contact by letters, he lied to them that he is gonna be let out from the military in late 1991, but he wasnt. He never did, he was still in that bloodbath, the only one who knew about that was our dad, my grandpa sent him a letter saying this: EDIT: i found the actual letter my dad recieved from my grandpa, i will write it down and translate it for you guys. Ivane (his sons name aka my dad) Bilo je dosta dugo od kada ste me zadnji put vidjeli, sigurno ste svi uplašeni radi mene? Ne govori im da sam i dalje u Vukovaru, molim te, reci im da se ne boje, slaži da će me Franjo Tuđman odpustiti sa vojne službe radi mirovine vjerovatno u listopadu 91, laži im kako znaš, reci da me čeka let za Španjolsku u siječnju, volim vas sve, -Ivica Translated Ivan It's been a long time since you last saw me, sure you are all afraid of that? Anyways, you are the only one who knows where i am, i hope you achieved my wish, and didnt cheat on me Son, im still in Vukovar, of the city only the ruins remain, im still in the trench, im scared, hungry, and shell shocked, day after day the bombs keep falling, yesterday Đuro and Matija died from a bomb, right now we are encircled, no survival chance. What ever you do, dont say a word to anyone. Dont tell them im still in Vukovar, please, tell them not to worry, lie to them that Franjo Tuđman is letting me out of military service in October, lie to them how ever you know, tell them im awaitng plane for spain in January 92 I love you all -Ivica He was later found in 92 and was executed by the serbians, he was found try to escape through the field of salvation, he was recognized as a soldier because the defenders of Vukovar had special boots, and they were indentified that way. This story is still sad to me to this day because they found him along the Dunav (Danube) river near the serbian border, well police did after the war in 1996, serbians used to drop dead bodies of croats into the river. May god be with my grandpa

I am from Spain. In the first Chechnya war I was 5 years old. My parents signed up for the refugee program of the Red Cross to help kids that had been relocated from the conflict. We adopted a Chechnyan girl called Djamila. Her father had died while driving his car, stepped over a mine. Her mom had more kids and couldn't feed them all. She called us once, a Red Cross worker translated her to English. She asked us to adopt Djamila permanently, but my mom said that it was not possible, Djamila stayed with us for around 3-5 months, I don't recall. She was 10 years old in 1996. When she left her mom called us again for hosting her during the second Chechnya war, but my parents were not together anymore, both of them worked abroad and I even hardly saw them, so we couldn't take her back. Djamila, if you read this, I hope you are well, we still remember you. I'm Juan, the kid you shared room while being in Spain, I still remember you loved to eat tomatoes and cherimoya.

Every soldiers think about their mom, when you know you are about to die all you want is your mom to hug you and be with you. When I got hit by a rpg I became unconscious, 15 minutes later in a helicopter all I thought was wtf was I doing and was for my mom to tell me stories and anecdotes, but then I remembered she was dead (because of cancer). And as I kept battling fatigue I started to think of one of my sisters who got married and had a child and passed out because at that point I was way too tired. Then I wake up in a hospital in France lol. But to say that your mom is the first thing you think of when you are about to die and she is the last person you want them to worry about you. And I'm great full my combat experience was not like in all the wars Russia had after the USSR and their Afghanistan.

I recently read a book called “One soldier’s war in Chechnya” Its written by a man who was sent there when he was 18y old as a conscript. Its a very good book, but fucking hell. He describes how some of them can barely look themself in the mirror. How some 20y old men had the eyes of someone old and tired. That they ALL died there in some way or another. Probably the lesser known but some of the most horrible conflicts of the last 50y took place there. Both sides had no regard for human dignity and butchered eachother like animals. 18y old, poorly trained, poorly equipped, poorly fed, unmotivated and scared. They were not ready for that conflict. The ones that did the best were those who served in Afghanistan and were battle-hardened and experienced soldiers. A very chilling passage tells how they were led into a hangar by an NCO, there was a large pile of armored vests dumped off a truck in the hangar. Many were shot through and blown apart. Still stained with the blood of their previous owners and their names and blood type written on the vest. They were then ordered to puzzle the intact parts together to build their own armored vests. Must have been horrifying seeing the stains and names on them, and realizing that these protect you from jackshit in battle while being heavy and uncomfy.

It was a war unleashed by the criminal Yeltsin, who also shot the Russian parliament. This idiot threw the slogan "Take sovereignty as much as you can". And in these vague destructive 90s, many regions of Russia, not only national but also territorial like the Urals and Siberia, with the assistance of some adventurers of the governors tried to declare themselves independent from Russia. This criminal political negligence contributed to the incitement of nationalist ideas, including in the Caucasus. But even in this situation, a political solution had to be sought. But this completely corrupt and criminal government in the person of the Yeltsin government and the Minister of Defense adopted a tragic and criminal order in relation to both Chechens and Russians. The fact that many civilians of Chechnya suffered is a well-known fact, but few people now remember and know that there was also a criminal, disdainful attitude towards conscripts. It was not like in Afghanistan. These were almost always cases of sending untrained soldiers who were even in were not informed where they were being taken from recruiting stations and of course their parents also did not know that their sons had ended up in Chechnya . I remember it as it was openly talked about by the opposition TV channels and journalists. Many combat officers were indignant at this attitude towards soldiers and became their fathers in the war and died with them. But there were also those who were ready to make any sacrifices among the soldiers and residents in order to fulfill the order at any cost. And what separately caused disgust was this direct betrayal , when at the cost of great sacrifices it was possible to surround the armed formations of the militants and the last step to liquidation remained , the commanders of the militants called some oligarchs like Berezovsky by satellite phones , who had a direct influence on corrupt politicians and generals who gave the order to retreat , thereby allowing the enemies to escape from the encirclement zone . And this could happen several times . It was a direct betrayal of the politicians and generals of the Yeltsin era. They have caused huge damage to both Chechens and Russians.

I miss parts of the story. Why would an Albanian fight against his own nation?Back then ethnic Albanians were 90% muslims identifying as Ottomans and 10% Catholics identifying as Albanians under the influence of Italians. There did not exist "Orthodox Albanians" precisely because there was never in the history of the region any "Albanian Church" : Remember that Orthodox Churches are created always in the ethnic language, not on Greek or any other. Perhaps your grandfather was ethnic Greek of North Epirus who fought for his nation, then betrayed (by Allies of Greece playnig the German-Italian card) and finding on the other side of the placed border (artificially to stop Greece from sharing Otranto with Italy). Later he may married into ethnic Albanians and the family continued as such. It is known that the Albanian nation had a massive and quite violent Albanization programme of non-Albanians throughout the 20th century.

There are people like that in America. We went down to the state of Georgia a half year back. In the city of Savannah we met an artist who was a veteran of Desert Storm in the late 1980s. He had been homeless for a while after discharge and had gotten back on his feet by selling his paintings and doing other jobs, but some can’t do that and are consumed by alcoholism. That happened a lot to the men who came back from Vietnam too. I had felt bad and wanted to maybe buy something, but I didn’t have the money. I hope he is still doing good.

as a chechen, who grew up in grozny during these wars, i used to listen a lot to these kinds of songs, both in russian and chechen language. Living far away from there now, ive spent a lot of time trying to understand how normal people could do such evil, like its not a little child you're killing right in front of its mother.. i feel for my russian brothers, and i'm sorry you had to suffer so much. But believe me when i say that the demage you did to us is beyond curable..its never the people who are at fault, only politics, so therefore id never hate on someone just because they're russians. But why does it always have to be "the evil chechens" in your songs? Even in your lullabies for children you're singing about the "evild chechen waiting in the woods".. and thats how the majority of the world sees us now..thats probably the most hurtful part about these songs, eventhough they ARE beautiful.

I pray for this horrible wound in the soul of Chechen people to be cured someday, though it will hardly be for me to live till it happens... I haven't heard of any lullabies you've mentioned. We, Russians, don't really associate the word "Chechen" with "evil" or anything like that. After all these years we blame only Yeltsin and his liberal government for bringing thousands deaths to Chechen people and to Russian people in this horrible, brutal and unworthy massacre.. May the God be with you, my Chechen brothers and sisters. Georgiy from Moscow

This song invokes a feeling of deep sadness in me I don't know why. My family heritage is a mix of Russian, and Serbian. Maybe It's because of the state of that region that I feel their pain.
