They endured, months and even years of brutal street combat, which meant enemy soldiers could attack from almost every angle. Mines and improvised explosives maimed, proving to be brutal and effective. Artillery was constant, and bodies littered the ground, including civilians. Don't act like you understand.

same thing here... this artist is a classic amongst RU speaking people. "Underline the humanity" is, in my opinion, an understatement. This song is one long toast to those who put their life on the line to defend us, a toast that puts you in the boots of a soldier who saw people go, who is watching people going and explains the reason why they never gave up. It was never about them. It was about "nih" (them), "teh" (those) "sibir" (siberia), "kavkas" (country) and everyone else that was in the same shit they were in. People didnt throw themselves armed with explosives under tanks because they wanted to live, they did it because they believed in something better. It was never about YOU, it was about THEM. Countless good people threw their lives into a raging pit of fire so that the ashes could birth a better world they will never even see. This song unites for the cause, honours those who fell and yet still finds a way to be uplifting enough to lift your rifle and fight. Music like this is unseen in Western culture and is one of many reasons why I will never give up believing in the Russian Soul. There are saints amongst the dead that weve never even heard of, people whove sacrificed and not even been remembered but, ultimately, helped to turn tides that seemed unbeatable. This song reminds us of that. Russian "shanson"/ classic rock/ philosophy tampers with the deepest recluses of the soul to extents ive not seen any culture do. If you have the time, learn russian and listen to Victor Tsoi, Agatha Kristie, Lyube, Spleen or Mashqna Vremeni. Believe me, you will not be disappointed

From Putin, he needed to create an external enemy, that he has to unite the Russian People against, so they're not thinking about the countless problems inside their country, that his Regime caused, like corruption robbing it of wealth. And because it was just the same old tale from the 1. Cold War warmed up, many older Russians believed it. Hundredthousands younger ones didn't believe it and fled before and especially after February 2022, about 250.000, mostly young, Russians perished in Ukraine. And for what? For the imperialist dreams of Putin, his Cronies and his followers. This whole tale also makes no sense. Germany and several other countries in the EU got the cheapest gas they could get from Russia. Why the hell would they want to destroy Russia? Besides, what we all, East and West, learned in the 1. Cold War: A serious, real attempt at destroying the other nuclear power could trigger a nuclear war. Chruschev and the USSR learned that valuable lesson at the latest with the Cuban Missile Crisis. And, kind of, did the West too, because for the retreat of the missiles out of Cuba to happen, the US had to retreat missiles out of Turkey. Fair Deal imho. The Soviet Union only ceased to exist, because it imploded on internal problems and the leaders of the different Soviet Republics dismantled it themselves, the US could've never destroyed it externally without triggering a nuclear war. The same is true today. Russia and China couldn't destroy the US, Britain or France without triggering a nuclear war that would end us all. And the same is vice versa true, Russia and China can't be destroyed either from without. They can only destroy themselves from within. No matter what nuclear power you look at, they all got enough internal problems to deal with. In fact, despite all the stern opposition of the West against Putin and the steadfast support for Ukraine, no one in the West wants Russia as a state to collapse. In fact, it would be a nightmare scenario for a west, if suddenly a whole bunch of new Post-Russian states would appear out of Russia, armed with nuclear weapons, maybe even fighting wars against each other or selling nukes to other countries or even terrorists. It may sound highly unbelievable given the current circumstances, but if Putin and his autocratic regime should fail and some new central power in Moscow would arise, democratic or authoritarian, the West would support that new leader just to keep Russia as a nation in one piece. It is always better to have to deal with one Russia armed with nukes and being annoyed by it in the UN than having to deal with e.g. 20 Post-Russian States, some or all of them armed with nukes. In fact, you have already seen this: When Yelzin basically couped his parliament in 1993 to gain more power as president, using the Russian military against an elected parliamentary body and committing unconstitutional acts, what did the West do? Did they condemn him? No, they supported Yelzin, because they wanted a stable Russia that doesn't fall into anarchy and civil war. And besides, no one can look into the future, but I think the Rise of Putin was hard, if not impossible to predict in 1993, since Putin in 1993 was still more or less a nobody in Politics.

More than 14000 people were killed, 500 of whom were just children (look up "the valley of Angels, Donbass). The "dude in office" had been negotiating for 8 long years but, after Zelensky declared that he had no intention of implementing the Minsk - 2 agreement (which Ukraine had signed!), he was left with no options but to launch the Special Military Operation. For example, the US had launched 2 wars, against Iraq & Afghanistan for far fewer of their casualties - 2800 people who died in the Twin Towers attacks. But I guess you never called out "the dudes" in US office... That was O.K. to you, I guess. Go figure...

I'm American, I discovered this song while playing the game mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly when I randomly decided to turn on the 'bandit radio'. Music plays from radios that you can find, but the bandit radio is less likely to be playing, so that was the first time hearing this song after playing for a long time. It was immediately very touching and soulful and really caught my attention. the game doesn't show the song names, but I was thankfully able to hum the song into my phone which led me here! Your video was great and I especially appreciated the translation. What a hauntingly beautiful, sad song.
