It's weird to see Ian not be struggling or having constant failures at a BUG match.

Most times the pistol is chambered for modern, mass-produced cartridge the gun works. It's usually when he's using old guns in obsolete calibers, where the only ammo is either old or made by sketchy manufacturers that he has the most trouble.

The thing about product recalls, especially with firearms, is that they'll recall the lot if there is an error with even quite a small number of the product because they don't want to get sued. If you get a good one it should be fine. The mag floor plate doesn’t look great, so the must have been some quality control issues, but the design looks fine.

beleive it or not this is similar to the bad reputation of the tec 9. now there are certainly lemon tec 9s but most of the problems come from promag. the type of person to buy a tec 9 is also the type of person who wouldnt aim well, take care of their gun, or use expensive mags or decent ammo. a promag full of tula in a dirty gun won't run well. but if you use factory mags and keep it clean, and use decent enough ammo, the tec 9 is accurate and reasonably reliable. i personally have only experienced 1 jam in several hundred rounds. it's more reliable than a 1911 but thats not saying that much. its really surprisingly accurate though.

It's not a terrible gun. As much as people talk about drop safety nowadays, people forget that until the 1980s or so virtually no guns were truly drop safe. A proper holster was and is the proper solution. Not liking most hollowpoints, that's more important thing. That said, there's more modern hollowpoints it would probably do just fine with.

@maxjoechl5663 Жыл бұрын
There was the era of the polymer fishgun, where Beretta had legendary designer Giorgetto Giugaro work on the CX4 storm, but with the demand for exchangeable quad-rail foreends and AR-like ergonomics, many designs lose much of their visual uniqueness, or disappear altogether. Basically the gun version of carcinization, where wildly different groups of crustaceans eventually evolve into a common crab-like shape. I guess there is more leeway for unique designs with handguns (like smoother lines for less snag, as Vektor tried to do with the CP1). The Chiappa Rhino could be seen as a handgun that was commercially successful while being innovative both in function (low bore axis) and aesthetics… sadly, Emilio Ghisoni (who also made the Mateba) passed away in 2008.
@hoilst265 Жыл бұрын
@@maxjoechl5663 Honestly, that's why this is pretty much the only gun channel I watch (that, and Ian doesn't screw around with presenting or the usual KZbinr crap). How much needs to be said about the AR platform? And there's only so much you can do to 'em, and it's just...splitting pubic hairs after a point. Oooooh, you put an Idaho Tactical foregrip on it that has 0.03" deeper grooves on it than the equivalent Cockburn Tactical one, but is also 0.24" shorter than the Tactics Tactically Tactical one. Tactical.

The pistol obviously “points” well. Years ago I tried a drill, an odd one, where you stood about 2yards from a target board, which was very close to the berm, and fired a series of shots, two handed, with your eyes closed. Sounds mad, but the resulting group showed how your muscle memory was, and the “pointability” of the gun in your hands.
