I did not include the 18% attack speed increase in my initial calculation of the haste vial so the base DPS number should be 767 DPS or 1,534 when the active ability is pressed meaning the number of seconds the RC would have to last would be 11.3 seconds and not 12.1.

it doesnt work that way bud. Its dps ... damage per SECOND. A faster attacks speed doesnt increase the dps, it just decreases the time between attacks. Which means a spear throw would deal less dmg, but accours more often.

@@v1p3r4coc5 The “attack” speed increase of +18% does increase dps because you are literally attacking faster increasing your damage per second. The “speed” increase of 38.3 increases the speed between defenses. So you are only half correct. I did not include the speed increase of 38.3 in my calculation because of exactly what you said - it does not increase dps. Edit: Actually now that I’m thinking of it, increasing the speed between defenses technically would increase dps as well since the RC is able to get to doing damage faster so technically you’re 100% wrong and I’m still only 50% correct 😂 I’m not sure how to calculate speed increase into dps but point is still can the haste vial do more than the 10,000k in damage done by the shield. If so, then the haste vial is better. Edit #2: Also don’t forget there’s “damage per hit” and there’s “damage per second.” Increasing attack speed does not increase “damage per hit” you are correct on that. But if she’s attacking at 2x’s speed then that means she’s getting say two hits in every second vs just one hit every second without the ability. Therefore “damage per second” is increased.

The 18% attack speed increase shouldnt mathematically increase the damage output with the values given by supercell (damage per second), but it does because the calculations ingame are apparently with damage per hit and they just show the dps because its easier to understand for thr players than the damage per hit numbers I guess.

This analysis of the Seeking Shield ignores too many essential variables for analyzing the equipment choices. For starters, you need to consider that the Seeking Shield damage is near instant damage. This means that any defenses that are destroyed by it will stop dealing damage to your troops sooner than they would had you used another equipment. Also, it can eliminate defenses before your troops even have to engage them, entirely removing them from the equation. The next thing that you need to consider is that the other abilities are not constantly doing damage. You need to remember that the dps displayed for the troops is only for when they are attacking, and does not include the time spent traversing the base, so it would actually take a lot longer for the other equipment choices to catch up to the 10000 damage of the Seeking Shield. Another thing I didn't like about your analysis was how you added in the damage of the Royal Champion into calculating how long it would take for other equipment choices to outdamage the Seeking Shield. This doesn't really make much sense, because the Seeking Shield doesn't prevent your Royal Champion from attacking. Instead you only should have incorporated the dps increase from the other equipment into said calculation. I don't think it's reasonable to say that you can calculate which equipment is going to be more powerful like this, because there are just so many things that you can't realistically predict. Overall the only way I think you can determine which equipment choices are good and which ones are bad is through using them in attacks, and pro players have spent a lot or time doing that since the update and it seems like a lot of them still see the Seeking Shield as a viable option.

I agree with your criticism. Only looking at damage dealt without factoring in the nature of different equipment (eg the time it takes for the hog riders to deal damage versus the seeking shield) is not the right way to select an equipment. It’s very nuanced as these equipment can work to your advantage or disadvantage depending on your army

@@chrisw9597 yes this is 100% correct and I’ve tried to emphasize this in all my equipment videos. Each piece can work better in certain situations and not recognizing that can leave damage on the table unnecessarily. That being said, I’ve found even more so that the hog puppet in most cases deals way more than the 10k in damage offered by the shield so my recommendation is even stronger now that a player should be using the haste vial or the hog puppet in place of the shield.

The music in this video gave me Terminator SCC vibes 😅. RC with haste is fantastic, especially if you can pair her with Spirit Fox. With Diggy, those hog puppets work great. Seeking Shield can pair really well with hog puppets when ability is used just after she enters the attack, to clear out an area that overgrowth spell has been used on for example.

The stats don’t tell the whole story, the seeking shield does its damage almost instantly and does enough damage to destroy buildings. This overall reduces the amount of damage taken by the rc or other troops. I don’t think the seeking shield is as bad as you claim. Also your analysis of the haste vial was off, you claimed the rc would be moving into more high dps areas and taking more dmg. The haste vial increase speed which reduces the travel time, during travel time the rc can only take dmg and cannot deal dmg, reducing this is very helpful. You also said that the haste vial doesn’t have a big dps boost, just attack speed. I don’t know what you were trying to say as the increase in attack speed boosts the dps.

The seeking shield does do damage instantly and this is a benefit. You are correct. But it only destroys teslas, mortars, archer towers, and air defenses in one hit meaning anything else is left up to continue doing damage. I made this point in the video. My analysis of the haste vial is correct. I said the sword cuts both ways. Because she’s faster she is dealt less damage - I literally said this in the video - but also because she’s faster she could be running more quickly into a higher damage situation - again I said exactly this in the video. I made the adjustment in dps and pinned it. Thanks for the correction.

This is exactly what I thought. I never ran the numbers on it but the amount of health recovery you get plus the second of invincibility, and all those hogs seems way stronger than throwing the shield to hit four targets, especially when you combine it with the royal gem for that health recovery, you basically get, your royal champion back to full health on top of that it’s just a set it and forget it with your royal champion. If single Inferno locks onto your champion, it is no problem currently saving up the resources to get that hog puppet to level 18.

That’s what I see. I have gotten some feedback that those hogs aren’t lasting long at th16 but also I wonder if that’s because the ability is being hit in the wrong place. My hog puppet is at L7 now but it’s a priority so I’ll find out for sure real soon 🙂

I like to use the hog puppet + seeking shield, hog puppet makes it that It'll live a little more infront of a single inferno and the shield to finish off the defenses around

Whatever works! I’ve found the different pieces to be extremely balanced and even though you might be able to get more value with the other pieces it is situation dependent.

The only reason the haste vial is better is because of the stat boosts. In terms of ability, they're both nearly the same. In any case, there are situations where seeking shield is undoubtedly better

Yes agreed! All of the equipment is situation dependent so if a player is sending in their RC into a part of the base where there’s a lot of splash damage then those hogs aren’t going to last long lol

The haste vial being bugged though is the problem at the moment. When fixed it will be great. Until then we are only seeing a portion of its power. Just don't pop the hog puppet in range of a scattershot. You might get lucky and they go straight for the scatter but if the get hit once it's basically over

I’d heard that about the haste vial. Thx for the confirmation on that. Using the hog puppet does take a tad bit of skill to use in just making sure you pop out the hogs in the right place but I have found overall it performs much better than the seeking shield. I’m curious though too if the new Rocket Spear will somehow pair with the seeking shield in a way to make it more powerful. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

the seeking shield clutch so many attacks for me, from my own experience it's really good but there are better options, when i reach th14 (currently th13), i stop upgrading seeking shield and would go to Hogs

If you find the shield working out better for you in certain situations then don’t be afraid to use it! I do think the hog puppet can get more damage in a lot of situations but it would be foolish of me to say that one piece of equipment is best in every situation for any hero. 🙂

Actually skill-wise? Yes but especially with Legends I’m not skilled enough to know the exact right place to bring the RC in with the haste vial in order to ensure full value so I’ve been using the hog puppet because of that.

It’s seems in general the hog puppet is better but also for more skilled players the haste vial is proving to be pretty powerful. I personally have the hog puppet on my RC not because the shield is bad but because I’m seeing more success with the hog puppet. Hopefully this helps 🙂

Definitely. I’d have to say the hogs die too fast for it to make sense at lower levels. I’d say at level 12 with 8 L11 hogs is when it first starts to make sense but I would need to see if that would hold up at TH16 too.

Hog rider puppet is useful for lower th, if u try using it on th16 the scat and other traps will smash ur hogs lol. For selected strats is kinda useful, but shield + healing gem is useful for all armys and strats, that combo will never die, maybe with the new RC epic equipment that is like a sp minion could replace the shield. But idk

Maybe…I’m hearing mixed responses though. Some players have said exactly this and other players have said as long as the ability is hit in the right place it works really well. I’ll have to see for myself once I get my hog puppet leveled up.

Seeking shield will synergize better with the upcoming rc equipment called rocket spear. Currently it doesn't has much of place at th 16 at least.

Hogs equipment at TH16 is pretty useless, forget about max scatter, even wizard tower kills them like in couple of seconds, plus with spirit fox, don't really need that 1 sec invis. I have switch with haste equipment, much better now.😎

Agreed and instant damage should not be overlooked. I think ultimately it comes down to what works best for each player and if they find they’re just not getting at least 10k damage value with the other pieces then the seeking shield will work best for them.

lol you can triple with any piece of equipment on your heroes. But if you can get more than 10k in damage from another piece of RC equipment then you’re leaving extra damage on the table unnecessarily. If you can’t use the hog puppet or haste vial effectively then sure using the shield will still be the best for you.

If only I can share my attack here you will surprise.. I'm nearly max th16 except the walls.. I'm using air attack either mass balloons or dragon with combination of dragon rider and balloons.. I'm using all lightning spell to destroy all 4 air defense.. I deploy all my troops in the middle with grand warden of course with default equipment.. then I deploy my king and queen outside the enemy base.. king with barbarian puppet and earthquake boots.. queen with invisibility vial and archer puppet.. then I deploy royal champion for clean up..
