LRASM is a long range, precision-guided anti-ship missile leveraging off of the successful JASSM-ER heritage, and is designed to meet the needs of U.S. Navy and Air Force warfighters. Armed with a penetrator and blast fragmentation warhead, LRASM employs precision routing and guidance, day or night in all weather conditions. The missile employs a multi-modal sensor suite, weapon data link, and enhanced digital anti-jam Global Positioning System to detect and destroy specific targets within a group of numerous ships at sea.

@brianjordan2192
@brianjordan2192 3 жыл бұрын
@@BC-sr3gg SM-6 is specifically designed to take out ballistic missles. The hysteria about ballistic anti-ship misses is unwarranted. In the first place Chinese tech is very overrated, it often fails miserably. These missles have never been tested in a ecm environment, nor against moving targets. Secondly America has had ABM technology for many years now.
@Frost-01
@Frost-01 3 жыл бұрын
fun fact about ballistic missiles is accuracy, if you want your ballistic missile to hit a target thats moving at a constant rate, you need to have the missile's trajectory updated down to the last minute, that means having constant surveillance and tracking on said target if you want to even hit it with a ballistic missile, cuz once the missile enter's its final stage where only the warhead remains, by the time its own sensor locks in, the amount of time it has to course correct is so little that if the ship just moves a few meters away its gonna miss. Unlike cruise missiles where they are far more maneuverable and thus can have better course correction ability and can acquire their target much more earlier due to not being obstructed by the atmosphere and clouds. So unless said opposing country has that capability of providing that up to date guidance which it might or might not, hitting a ship out in the ocean with a ballistic missile is like trying to trying to thread a needle but your very very far away from the needle while trying to thread it.

A B Mach 20 at ground level is around 23,000 km/h. The international space station moves at around 28,000 km/h - so for various definitions of a “missile” that include the ISS in their scope, yes, there are missiles that go significantly faster than Mach 20.

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

Lockhear martin is better stick to air fighters manufacturing because in weapons it overwhelmingly sucks... Russia has hypersonic missile/rockets that fly over 20.000 MPH whit stealth technology and nuclear propulsion. It is only a matter of the software codes which type of weapon is going to be. The missile fly at speeds over 20.000 MPH low altitude and capable to detect radars. The problem is that detonations of nuclear missiles at hypersonic speeds the heavy metal and radioactive metals load already have the kinetic energy force of a nuclear explosion changing the explosions behaviour tremendously. This effect causes the nuclear fusionvortex which is observed as a wal of fire from the ground up to the sky and a normal 7.5 megaton nuke has a devastating radius of 2250 miles, at hypersonic speed it will be a wall of super heated gasious heavy metals. The area length of destruction for these nukes is up to 45.000 miles and all targets withing this area are being vaporized. All the metals present in its path have no time to melt or boil so they all explode into auper heated gasious metals feeding the nuclear fusion vortex.

@Roger Wilco I suppose it would depend on your target but artificial inteligence pared with an observer can do some serious damage. I wont pretend to know much either. But I do imagine that autonomous subs are a thing of the future. Recently in war drills the newest of our carriers was sunk technically by a diesel sub. I just think that a big giant ship like a super carrier would be large enough to churn up enough water for something like a undersea version of the LRASM to be able to locate.

The question is, is sea warfare, or warfare at all, still possible in this day and age. The world has become very small. In villages people don't fight with one another either , even if they do not agree at all or hate each other.

ASMs rarely ever sink a ship. Only way to reliably sink a ship is to break its back, either from above or underneath. Side shots above the waterline may disable if it hits a critical system like the bridge or ignites a ammo bunker etc.

This is how we beat the Tic Tacs-they had trouble when two or more LRASMs coordinated on a single target, in an extremely short period of time (3-5 seconds) before impact. After the short war with the tacs, Trump renamed Tic Tac with LRASMint, paying great homage to the missile that saved the world. You know what you have to do.

With the way that systems have improved to detect surface (especially low) incoming missiles? Perhaps it's time to have missiles that come in from extremely high (the edge of outer space)? How many radars/detection systems can track vertical incoming?

Uh yeah Russia has hypersonic ones already deployed. China always copies cheap versions of the original??? Who did they copy 5g off? You've never left your country have you? Try visiting one of their cities one of the bigger ones. Everything about them are so technologically superior to any major US city you have to see them to believe. If you do ever visit take a tour on one of their trains and you'll soon realise what you think you know isn't reality, everything your media tells you try researching a different countries opinion of the same subject. You'll realise there's a reason the US has been paying Russia 82million dollars for a seat in the rockets to get to get to the ISS for the past decade. 1400 launches of a Soyaz most reliable, safe and dependable rocket in history. Same rockets deliver the biggest and most lethal Atomic warhead ever built. Respect others and they won't shock you. Being arrogant in wars against any opposition will get you defeated. After all over 1 trillion spent and after 18 years a bunch of rag tag cave dwellers called the Taliban have just about taken over all of Afghanistan.

Davy Ro are you Russian? Because first of all the US has not only some of the best tech, but Chinese Tech is stolen from everyone. Also, although I know Russia has good tech, they don’t have the economy to hold what we hold. Listen, I know. Russia has good tech. But so does the US, and the US most likely has better tech. Not only because of their diversity, but also because of the economy. Russia simply doesn’t have that. Can we just agree China is a piece of shit at least? Also, I was memeing
