Ever wondered how strong your NPCs actually are? Did you know that defeating bosses in Terraria actually buffs your NPCs' attack power and defense? The new Advanced Combat Techniques Volume 1 and 2 also provide further buffs to NPC stats.

Strictly speaking, you missed out on a potential 3 def/10% atk - if you create an artificial biome of the opposite evil in your world (in your case, Corruption) and bring the boss summoning item, you'd also have been able to defeat Eater of Worlds. NPCs will benefit from the stat boosts bestowed by Brain *and* Eater, even though that isn't normally possible (outside of certain seeds like getfixedboi)

Would be cool if by defeating moonlord all NPC’s got one last upgrade to their weapons. Guide, still using a wooden bow, would use instead better arrows. Or perhaps if you would be able to reforge their weapons and/or equip NPC’s with 1 accesory. That would be pretty cool as well.

i'm probably the only one here who likes the guide and i think he did pretty well for that hes the first npc and is just fighting with a wooden bow. even in hardmode i believe. he just switches arrows. he would probably be more strong in hardmode combat if he actually upgraded his wooden bow to a stronger bow, but guess that would be too much work.

Not sure about combat system but you can customize their attack speed (and other less relevant stats) with mods. The difference is night and day once you make them attack as often as a human player.
