Just FYI, you can also prevent spontaneous boss spawns by retreating underground. I got the "vibrations from deep below" message on my first blind run, but I thought it was the game telling me where to go, so I just went down and was very confused when I found nothing and nothing happened, lol. Hey I know this video is 8 months old but in case no one answered your question about the Terraspark Boots. Terraspark Boots are only good for exploring, Wall of Flesh and maybe Moon Lord. For all other boss fights you should use Amphibian Boots, they let you immediately jump off the ground and start flying which can be very useful for dodging.

As someone who was also crazy enough to do this, i am shocked and awed at how much less prep work and caution you did compared to my run... I used teleport nurse boxes, heart statues, and oh so many more potions. Such that i barely left my base without danger sense active, and made myself farm the rod of discord before moon lord. (did it in shimmer for coin luck) When i went into the dungeon post plantera i had already mined and rebuilt it for farming since i was also scared of snipers adding me to their cod montages. Also had a special build made for moonlord, same design i used on the legendary seed, almost no-hit the ML apart from 2 or 3 eyeballs ramming onto me. The adrenaline rush was fantastic, and major kudos on your hard earned victory.

Finally got around to finish watching the video, this was really well done, thank you for sharing your journey - this is quite a tough challenge to conquer, congratulations \o/ I've complete Hardcore on Master Mode FTW in the previous patch. But I played basically completely opposite of your style - the only way I personally enjoy hardcore playthroughs, is if I don't feel like I'm "wasting"/throwing away" a lot of time when I die. So I basically semi-speedran my attempts. Each run was just a little bit cleaner than the previous one. I've both learned about methods to fight bosses early, and created my own strategies for other bosses to defeat them reliably if I can get to them. Each time I died, I knew I could get back to where I was faster than before, thanks to having more practice, experience, and refine my strategies. I created my own strategies for Skeletron, Wall of Flesh, Duke Fishron, Empress of Light, Twins, Plantera, Golem, and Moonlord. My strategies I picked weren't just to be different, but to integrate 2 essential ingredients into my runs: Consistency, where I have the least opportunities to mess up, and take advantage of Terraria being a building-block game with various mechanics, that can be used against bosses - not just the traditional arena fights Funnily enough, after I finally beat all bosses in FTW HC MM, I continued evolving my strategies for various bosses, in case I felt like doing another run. You're absolutely not wrong about not getting Terraspark boots. While they're the best boots for exploration, they are NOT the best boots for bosses. That honor goes to the Amphibian boots for the increased jump/ascent speed that massively buffs your mobility in a fight. This needs to be known by more people, Amphibian is criminally underappreciated. Also, if you thought beating Terraria in Hardcore was a daunting task in terms of progress lost, try getting the Cosmic Plushie in the Calamity mod. I'll never get that time back but I don't regret doing it. Never again.

I’ve played terraria since 2012, and I’ve done hardcore in expert, and I’ve done it in master mode. The hardest part is 100 percent the early game, and getting fall damage immunity, and extra hearts, but if you get past the very beginning it’s not that bad. If you use recall potions, and do a little preparation at spawn, you can’t really lose. The other areas that become dangerous for a hardcore run are the wall of flesh fight, and the moon lord fight.

In defence of presure plates , i d say , that you should place them not in the midle of teleport , but on the side , next to the wall. You run into the wall , and exit other side. No problems , no unneeded teleportations , no manual control. Only speed.

So here's a fun fact you probably would've enjoyed knowing beforehand. Unless I'm mistaken and this is only the EOC, naturally spawning bosses like EOC and the mechs cannot spawn underground, so in order to prevent their spawning, you simply have to wait until the time passes for when they're supposed to spawn and then just go back up to the surface afterwards, you don't have to save & quit to dodge the boss. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's the case for all 4 naturally spawning bosses.

I'm trying a variant of hardcore inspired by Rogue Legacy. I use a mod that gives you a "background" that amounts to different starting gear and maybe different starting life. I make a character with the background set to random, let's say Reginald. Reginald inevitably dies, so I make Reginald II. And when Reginald dies I make Reginald III, etc. It ensures I get to mix it up, and every restart mixes it up.

Congrats! Currently doing hardcore master mode, and overpreparing on everything. Have at least 40 of every buff consumable in the game, and grinded 30+ pirate invasions for the coin gun. Then, built mappy's new 36 plat/min farm and afked for 5 hours. With 10000+ platinum in the bank account and the coin gun in hand, hopefully plantera+ will be a cakewalk. Not taking any chances 😅

Also, you don’t have to save and exit to avoid the destroyer. If you are underground, the destroyer can’t spawn. You can sit underground the entire night and it won’t spawn, no cheesing with save exit required.

for people who dont know why magic mirror isn't a complete replacement for recall potions magic mirror takes 1 second to bring you to spawn, while recall potions take half a second. half a second can make a difference.
