Much of the current Egyptian leadership were transplanted there as a colonial force after the Morsi Coup. Most of the concrete used in helping to build better lives and infrastructure in Gaza was given by Egypt during that administration (also the first democratically elected president of Egypt) hence why he was deliberately ousted. Not all that dissimilar from the stories of Hugo Chavez/Gadhafi Tbh. Although I'm not really a big fan of the religious fundamentalism component, I think a reasonable minded person should be able to understand the motivations and structures of oppression that fuel liberation movements
