Dude, I'm a financial analyst and I haven't seen a more useful channel. I felt stagnated in my career and stopped learning for a long time due to hating my career path. Rudy hasn't only helped me start learning analytics again. But gives me a perspective that keeps what I do fresh. Not only that but I have a more hands on approach to my favorite hobby that correlates with my career. For the first time in my life I own power nine and love my job. This dude was a godsend.

The problems with card market analytics is that its just like the weather, you can be right and every one praises you. Then you flop harder then timmys taco like Rudy has done on a few products and all you got to do is make a video like dam who woulda thought insert random good or bad thing that happand with the market and you can keep on trucking. Thats also why I love the game so much variance any thing can really happen you just got to use what you know to the best of your ability

@@labrynthgames5986 it really is not like that though if you play the game. as with all things ofc "insider info" will help but thats still inherently something you can guess. even weather is easy. cmon. lets not make this a whole cryptic, impossible thing. its definitely more complex than randumbs will assume but once you start digging your trench, youre good to go. cant lose much. but holy hell it is a lot of work :D

On top of that, try putting them in decks, 1. You can see that curl a mile away and 2. It pushes other cards in the deck to curl so forget about putting a few in a deck without spending time trying to smooth them out. Damaged a few already trying to get them to unfold and I say damaged but honestly still better state damaged than curled.

What I'm saying, he's so tight lipped about yugioh, because it wasn't taken seriously for a long time. It still isn't, yet the market is exploding. The game has basically gone only up in the pandemic. Where can the bubble pop go down to? It is such a low buy in for this game, even now... because true rarity is a thing in yugioh, despite reprinting. If you want to get a 1st ed LOB box, you are not even close to guaranteed Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes (you're probably going to get an exodia limb, and a "dud" in a box, New product has a rarity that has a 1/500 packs rate of pull. Konami is terrible a lot of the time, but oh man... people are going to be sore about it before long because the buy in is still low for a game that does legitimately make cards "hard to get". People have been crying for years about short printing, but that may be what makes the game buku bucks within 5 years.

I got lucky and got the mythic edition War of the Spark kit. It felt pretty good, and I'm happy with the purchase. There was still something off about it though. Sure, the unique cards are cool, but there are alternate art versions of lots of cards now. Some aren't even very difficult to get. I bought and opened some Flesh and Blood product a few months ago, and the rush of opening my cold foils, and that extended art Twinning Blade dwarfed anything I've felt recently when opening Magic product. I still buy a box on occasion to play sealed or draft with friends, but I don't look forward to seeing if I get anything cool. Since then, I've purchased a full set of cold foil equipment for my Viserai deck, and it's like James from LSS says: I am proud to own rare and unique pieces of gaming history, and proud to own the beautiful pieces of art that are these cards. I love the game, I love the cards, I love the collecting.

As a player of and content creator for the game, I've had a few negative responses towards the videos I've made, but thankfully I've had exponentially more positive feedback from new and interested players lately! The problem is that there's not many people in Magic for Magic. They're in it for money. When that happens, people will leech onto you and try to make money on your generosity rather than being a collector who wants to open the set and pay MSRP for the product. Pokemon is moving towards that as well. If everyone involved is in it for the money and no passion, it's going to die. Doesn't matter what it is.

Can confirm, pokemon culture is garrrbage right now. I came back to it from my childhood and its shocking to see the mindset now. Tons of jobless people with nothing better to do than lowball offers, scam and generally waste time trying to squeeze every last penny. Gone are the days where someone would buy a handful of cards, keep what they want and resell/trade what they don't want.

2020 and 2021 brought many people into Pokémon that just want to make money. The thing is that many big "Pokétubers" rose during this time. And they hyped even the most common $2 card like it was the most valuable card ever. Most of them can't even make a video that doesn't have at least 3 $ signs in the title and/or the thumbnail. But I am sure they will mostly vanish when the hype slows down. And the fandom doesn't need them and won't miss them. Pokémon was doing well before the Logan Paul hype and will do well afterwards.

Always love the honesty you have mate. The amount of people who've suddenly contacted me to try and get Flesh and Blood stock has been silly. "Hey Mac" they'll say, "you getting that new flesh and blood thing in or what ?". And of course I reply, "why wouldn't I considering Ive been building the game up for 16 months, I guess I'll keep going". "Great I'll take ten cases" they tell me. I need to get in on this. Great sage advice swami Rudy. Always try to remove emotion when investing. WOTC should return to its roots and stay focused on its game. Avoid trying to please all the people all the time. It never works. You end up with a crappy product. If people don't like it, they don't have to buy it.

"The next phase of FaB is going to be negativity" I've only been following this game for about 6 months now but I'm definitely seeing this too. There are almost daily posts on reddit where someone says "hey, I did some research on this game but the price of first edition boxes is scaring me away." This is a totally valid take as it is, honestly, quite shocking to see the prices on first edition WtR and Arc, but what's really interesting is how *angry* a lot of these posts end up being. It's like they've been personally insulted that people would be interested in this game right now and just want to call people stupid for playing it. It really puzzled me why these people were taking the time to come to the subreddit and write these posts (I mean, I know the internet is the internet and people really get off on condescendingly telling other people that what they like is garbage) but it recently occurred to me that this is actually a just a sign of the game growing. The game has grown large enough to attract people who no longer have "early adopter" mindsets and who end up being vociferous defenders of the game because they fell in love with the art or gameplay. The more popular the game becomes the more it will attract all kinds of people (and some of those people will be terrible).

That game will never last etc. And through it all I just smiled and said yep, because I enjoyed the art, the game, and the collecting. That's it. It was, and continues to be, fun.

I don't know a single person at my LGS who plays Flesh & Blood. An outsider looking in is going to assume this game was made for investors and collectors, and not for players. I mean there's no reason a box that came out 6 months ago would be $3000 if MTG finance people hadn't latched onto the game.

@@DuelingDragonAdventures or it could be that the game wasn't launched in the US first. The US hasn't had the first slice of the pie, NZ has and then Australia and then some product has been sent to the US but the game has grown faster than expected.

Your comments are so bloody spot-on. I cannot tell you how many people I've seen get into Flesh & Blood, max out credit cards, then have to sell collections cos they were utterly stupid about their decisions. Long-term greed, as the saying goes.
