I have “Stay the Course” written on the whiteboard in my office and I look at it whenever I make any market-related decisions. This is far from the only example, but it’s what caused me not to sell out of my bitcoin holdings this past summer. Instead I stayed the course and now it’s worth enough that I could just buy a brand new Mercedes or something outright if I wanted to, but I wouldn’t do something that stupid with it. The craziest I’ve gotten is finally convincing myself that $128 dollars wasn’t too much to pay for a pair of joggers and I paid for some renovations my parents had been wanting to make to their home.

I hate how social media has changed everything while having no value in its current state. Instead of being used to keep people connected and informed in a meaningful way its all about trashing others for fake points that don't matter. Since hard working, responsible, people stay away from the platform its really just the lowest performers in society being emotional at each other all day and that becomes the expectation for life.

It's not about social media bit it's about which social media you watch and how your brain digest it. Watching Rudy or reversed investments is social media as well and in my opinion is positive unless you have learning problems and hate people like Rudy because he is rich and you are not he would be like most people if he did not used his education and creditcard leverage to operate on a certain scale, he took a huge risk and it doesn't matter in hindsight it could have resulted in a massive loss no matter how good your decision is because there are always outside factors that you cannot predict nor influence. Example if you truly believe and understand apple in 2011 and know that even without Steve Jobs would be selling iPhones you could have made some money buying apple stock for 11$ each, if you had this knowledge and can leverage 1.000.000$ and buy apple stock for 11$ you you would have profit several 10ns of million dollars. And all of a sudden where you would have normally made 400.000$and be very happy now you made 40.000.000$ and you are 4% in the billionaire club.

@Volkbrecht 3 жыл бұрын
Actually you can get by on 6 hours for a while. Sleep happens in cycles of approx. 2 hours. If you wake up after 3 of those, you will still feel fairly well rested and get through the day allright. Also, it largely depends on what it is that you do. Lack of sleep kills your ability to concentrate, to spend energy on cerebral pursuits. As a craftsman, who's up on his feet a lot and working physically, you might not even notice that you're sleep-deprived while you're tinkering away. But sit down to do some work planning or project calculations, and you may notice that you find that rather hard, that you're quickly getting tired even though you felt fit a minute ago. Plus there are really people out there who are just weird mutants, who don't need much sleep. Not a lot, but medicine knows them.

I agree with the topics in the vid, I was very depressive because of Social media, video games, watching the typical Disney Bul****t and more. My life was nearly useless, but i quit the most of that. I'm feeling a lot better now since 2 years and trying to "repair" my Life. I'm now a - minimalist and dont paying my money on Bu*****t anymore. - better reader, i read a few books more since i quit in cool topics (Finance and self-reflection). - better sleeper, i love it :) (Also meditation & NoFap and some other challenges, great) - less procrastinator, it goes better with every day for my new purpose - better thinker. Dont watch any movies, only Documentaries to learn more of myself. - quality eater (a waaaaay more better, my last fast food was over 17 months ago) - and much more! Im on a motivation-ladder! The harsh reality i learnd was, when i quit social media. No one of my "friends" cared. If i disappear, suicide or whatever. Cried a lot in that time, because i was at bottom ground with a medium college degree in engineering. More than broke. I do now other new stuff, which is a new goal and purpose in Life. I work in a highly technical field and this is often what I have to explain to the people I work for. Once you get to a reasonably advanced level, things are so complex that few things of value can be achieved without focus. And focus means only paying attention to the task at hand, so much that I won't have time to help you with "X", and that "Y" will have to be done tomorrow (not today), and "Z" isn't something I have time to worry about. The good managers listen, and the horrible ones try to micromanage every little thing, meaning that no one can focus and any technical work of value ends up being done poorly if at all.

I'm sure corporations have a similar method, but I tend to apply a "Saving Steps" program to any work I might be doing. If you're working in a kitchen and you are constantly walking across your work space to gather the tools you need for the area you work, maybe you need to move those tools closer and keep them organized. If you find you are constantly searching for a pen or pencil, make it a routine at the start of your work day to make it as important as your phone, keys or wallet. If you find you are leaving a work area constantly over and over into another room, returning to the main work area, instead of making multiple trips, take a second to make a list or think about what else you may need for the next hour of whatever you are working on. Find that the batteries you use for a camera or other device are running out? make sure you have back ups on hand, charged and ready to go. When you practice the above, you are constantly applying it quickly and on a subconscious level. It may seem neurotic to some people, but it's simply being as efficient as you can be and excelling wherever possible. The few times I have seen Rudy scan the mass sorting area, set, colour, spell type, I know that he can increase his productivity by keeping the piles in the same order, same placement for every set and area he is sorting. It becomes muscle memory and frees up extra time for anything. Saving 5-10 mins multiple times a day frees you up for the shit that piles up on you, because at the time you don't think it's as important as work that brings in the $$$. There are other ways in your personal life to save time and very successful people corroborate its effectiveness. Dressing in a similar way almost every day frees up time spent deciding what you are going to wear. Keep your routines so similar, you can do them quickly and without thinking too much. For example, for dress wear or meetings, white shirt, black tie, black dress pants. Casual wear, a similar pair of pants or jeans and whatever pop-culture or band shirt happens to fill your mittens when you reach into a pile of cloths from your dresser or the hamper of clean clothes you never put away. Are you always looking for your phone or glasses? Designate a spot in your work place or house/apartment where you only ever put them if you are taking them off. You are easily saving plenty of time with that one. Probably the largest time saver is social media. Cut down as much of this as possible. It's easy to get dragged into pointless debates and some people enjoy them as an intellectual work out, but it's not very productive. It may release the same brain chemicals and juices when you "win" a debate or argument, but it's usually a net loss across the board. Also keep your PC desktop relatively sane. That is more important than making your bed. I don't care who says it, fuck making your bed. You are going to fling yourself in it exhausted and not care that your sheets are nice and crisp.

I cried watching this video. It really felt like it spoke to me and knew what it was doing. I was sitting down and playing a game and just realized wtf am I doing mining diamonds and killing animals in a virtual world. While the day before I bought a box of onslaught and a few reserved list cards because I love the nostalgia and art. Where I am getting at is the time wasted even making this comment on a video that you may not even see is just time that can be used to prepare my future. I wish you would make more videos like this Rudy and if you don't my passion for magic and the future for myself will still be here waiting. -From the Timmy

I still do the car collecting thing, as well as run my LCS/LGS, and it's all very time consuming, but working with cars helps me change my frame of mind from all the paper and cardboard collectibles business. Don't get me wrong, I still love comics and MTG, but rebuilding cylinder heads and performance tuning is a great outlet for stress, at least for me.

All moist taco giggities aside Rudy, thank you so much for this video. It's not even the content of your answers that gives me hope and makes me happy: it's the fact that you're brave enough to show your doubts and uncertainties so that all of us can acknowledge our own doubts and uncertainties yet no longer be held hostage by them, but learn to accept them as part of life and thereby overcome the restrictions we impose on ourselves because of them. That was some good honest heart-to-heart talk my dude, from one 36yo to another ;)

This really hit close to home, I run a gold and silver coin business and time management cripples me, the reality is the work is rewarding but it never ends, there is always a problem to fix and you could fold yourself in half 6 times and it wouldn't please some people.

This is your best video yet, like honestly this video puts me at ease with where I am at today. In a sense If it wasn't for Covid shutting down the industry I use to work in (which sucks because I make significantly less money right now) I wouldn't have gotten back into collecting cards. PS :KUDOS to the guy who bought a shit load of Pokemon off of you.

Hey Rudy Pokémon is blowing up like crazy out here is Canada I’m sure in the US as well. Shining fates releasing in mid February and the 25 anniversary set mid October TBD will be some nice investing. as for the battle styles booster box releasing in March I don’t see much excitement and wouldn’t heavily invest in. No serious chase cards in that set but they are adding a new mechanic to playing the game which can make or break. Love your KZbin channel you’ve helped me quite a lot with your legendary wisdom and this video is just awesome especially in these harsh yet weird af times it’s exactly what people need to hear thanx a lot and keep up the great work P.S please add some Pokémon product to your Canada eBay store hehe would love to buy

Got me thinking of whether or not what I'm doing is my passion or not, going to think on it and maybe try some ideas out that I have disregarded feeling I don't have the time of day for them, got to stop making excuses and just try things out and see where it takes me and if it fails so be it but better than not trying at all
