Why the fuck do you need to register your vehicle immediately? Can't you just wait til your current care registration expires?
@ChristopherIves7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I learned that the registration is connected to your property tax and your legal housing address. So, for example, if you got pulled over and they saw that you claim to live in CO and have that on your license, then you'd get fined for not living in the state and not transferring your registration. You might say, "Ok, well don't change your license then!" --- to which I also found that then you can't vote her, you can't utilize some town and state services, etc. It's not to say you couldn't keep your old plates and license, but if you do, you're basically limiting yourself from participating as a Colorado resident and running the risk of the police harassing you at a traffic stop, or at worst a fine. So I mostly did this to 'play by the rules', respect Colorado's laws, and make it less likely to get a ticket. Hope that clarification helps!

Hey im wanting to move to Fort Collins or Loveland area. I'm moving from Oklahoma. How much money should i have saved before i do move? In planning on moving uo there with my job. Im a co-manager at journeys. I'm the tyoe of person who can be happy with a studio apartment, as long as it my home lol. Of course i smoke green, and I'm a skater dude. I was thinking about saving 5000 amd then moving. I know patience is a virtue, but the sooner the better. If anyone could hekp that would be absolutely amazing. Thank you in advance.

Hey Greg, - Denver is definitely not a 'cheap' city, but maybe this will help you: -- If you want to live IN Denver city limits, I'd figure you'll spend $900-1300/mo on average for a studio. If you want to live in a neighboring town and commute in, you can probably save a few hundred bucks.... but then you'll be farther away and driving more too. -- If you want to share a place with others, like a 3 bd apartment, you might be able to pay between $500-900/mo per room, living with others in the city. (these numbers would not include utilities....) So as long as you're up for paying that sort of rent, figure that there are tons of fun things to do in the city, and endless mountains nearby. Here's some thoughts for you..... Gas prices are usually pretty regularly in the upper-middle price per gallon nationally...... a good cup of coffee will run you $2-5. A good donut is probably $3.... a rec gram of green is ~$10-20.... a beer is at $4-8/glass... parking is hard to find but not too pricey, unless you want a downtown parking spot, that'll run a few hundred bucks a month. Internet is around $60-90/mo by iteself for good speeds. SO it's all about what you want to spend your money on. I'm someone who's very interested in simple living so I tend to ride my bike a lot, live in a super small and simple place, and spend my freetime in the parks and in the mountins. (Lots of fun free-ish things to do in Denver parks!)

Lots of people are moving so there are lots of new businesses, etc. Check out craigslist, Linkedin, and job sites - I work for myself now as a media producer so I'm a little less in touch with the 9-to-5 work scene, but I think if you're not too picky you should be good. @ChristopherIves7 жыл бұрын
Depends how much money you have to spend on housing! I'd say if you're willing to live with 2 or more other people in a 2-3 bd apartment, that is NOT fancy, you're probably looking at 400-700/mo including utilities. But you still need to account for food, and transportation, and the biggest cost: going places in this awesome city! If you want a studio or 1 bd, you're looking at $1,000 easy. 1 bds can easy go up to $2,000.... so there's a huge range, but the above option, living with people, is probably your cheapest.

Sorry, I deleted my comment because you're right, I was being rude. I was just already so irritated since this was one of the last videos I watched on this topic. it was late, and I was getting pissed off reading about all the terrible changes happening, like many families getting uprooted so that rich people can build land and build expensive property. Also have been doing a great amount of research into the changes that have happened to the Rocky Mountain National Park, among many other things. I am Native American, and my family has literally been traced back many, many generations. For the first time in a decade, Colorado's population has actually slightly decreased, but it's not because people aren't moving here, it's because people who have been here their entire lives, and who's roots are here, are being forced out. A lot, not all, but a lot of people are moving here because it's the "cool" thing to do, it's a trend, and a lot of these people have not researched the local culture before doing so. America is huge, each state has a unique culture, and if you move to a different state you need to respect the locals the same way you would if you were moving to a different country. Coloradans have long prided themselves on maintaining our natural resources and our land, and everything is getting completely trashed. All the open space is just being bought up and used to make a profit. It makes me sick to my stomach and depresses me to think of Colorado turning into NY or LA, because that's not what Colorado is. I'm not saying anyone to moved to Colorado after "x" date needs to move back, I'm saying people that are choosing to move here need to be more respectful of the culture that Colorado has thrived on. Yes, I know that people don't choose their birth place and that everyone can do as they please, but at some point, it just becomes unsustainable... Sometimes I wish I was born in New Zealand, but that doesn't mean I can just go live there. I can visit, but I have to return home, that's just life... We have reached a population that is not sustainable for our land or the people living here (who aren't rich), and that's not something to be passive about, it's something to be informed about, and to be politically and socially involved with to make the changes we desperately need, or the Colorado we once knew and loved, will be nothing but a distant memory.

@oldsilver93706 жыл бұрын
well when you get forced out of your home because a half a million idiots just randomly showed up at your doorstep, lets see how you feel about it? any native has a right to bitch as much as they please! if you havent been paying attention there dumbass panther, colorado just became the 2nd least affordable state to live in. we are the same list as new york and california. it has nothing to do with jealously or mean spirited brats, it has everything to do with good hardworking middle class people being forced out of colorado because it literally became unaffordable over night. want proof that things have gotten way outta hand... the average home in june 2018 sold for 540,624 which yet again broke another record for highest average home price and thats not just denver, its everywhere from the metro area to the foothills. what you fail to realize is, coloradans were better then this until everyone showed up and immediately brought their shitty attitudes and terrible habits along for the ride, really wears on people when self entitled trash demands that things need to change because their presence is unwilling to accept the state for what it is. we are not some hipster knock off of california and natives dont respect any outta state transplant, because they created the current problems all of us are dealing with. serious recession like problems are on the horizon for this state due to the over-inflation of almost everything and when that spark goes full on fire... imagine what will happen then?

Mary Katherine 2001 - I think the confusion is that I was talking about the model year of your car. If it’s a newer car (with newer emissions technology) the required paperwork is different when you go to register your car. So for example, in this video my car was from 2009, old enough that I was told (when I called) that I ALSO needed an emissions test. I assume if you bought a new Prius, for example, you might not need to go get that proof that shows your car isn’t toxic. Hope hat helps!! Thanks for watching.

@ChristopherIves7 жыл бұрын
It was actually fairly tricky. The hard part (besides the elevated costs) is to actually rent a place quick enough. For good quality apartments, they tend to rent extremely quickly. My first move to Denver required me to drive down from South Dakota three weekends in a row. I was being a little picky for my ex and I - since we were looking for a decent place, not just your average basement apartment. So my advice is to know your budget, where you want to live in the city, and then be ready with the deposit as soon as you find it, because it'll be gone tomorrow. -- Hope that helps!
