Just One Glance (A Kung Fu Panda Fanimatic)

Set a few months after the events of the Secrets of the Scroll, The Furious Five make their official debut as the new protectors of the Valley of Peace. Po, not really knowing who they are but remembers seeing them before when they fought Boar together and having enough memory to carve their action figures out of wood, sees them presented to society for the first time as masters. He is in awe of their skills and awesomeness, but one young Tigress catches his eye.
If the events of Secrets of the Scroll was about the day Po fell in love with Kung Fu, then this is about the day he started crushing on Tigress.
Based on a short script I wrote a couple years ago (or longer, I can’t remember), which I uploaded to FF.net.

I wanted to storyboard this for a long time to get it out of my head, and I finally had some time to work on it over a weekend, so it’s not perfect, but enough to get the idea across lol. I can’t do voices, so had to add subtitles, but if anyone is interested in adding a voice over for these characters, let me know. 😂

Man, this really blows my mind at how well it was done. Everyone feels solidly in character, especially Mr. Ping with him giving Po some genuinely good advice. Plus, the bit with him and Tigress was legitimately adorable.

This is the coolest thing I've EVER seen. The music added so much and the expressions were perfect; I heard this in their voices. Not to mention that I laughed out loud, loud enough that my cat came to check on me, and then actually teared up. Bravo. Thank you for making my night, and honestly, my last ten years. My fifteen year old self is squealing with joy every bit as much as I am in the present.

Everything about this is fantastic! This could be an actual cannon short! The dialogue, the movement of the characters, the details like Po seeing Shifu’s reflection in the pot lid, accidentally hitting himself in the fact with soup? It’s all perfect! You can see how much effort was put into this!

Maybe this is the ONLY time she saw him. Ten years is a long time for someone to remember a random person they saw just one time when they were a teen. Even if they are a standout in your town you wouldn't give them much thought.

I love this. This is a really damn great storybording work you're doing here, the visuals tell the story so well that you didn't even need the dialouge --- but the dialogue is so on point that it sounds just like its from the KFP universe, witty and funny and charming. This really brought me back to when I was younger and I was a much bigger fan of the movies, and of Po and Tigress, hahaha. This is an absolute banger, I hope to see you do more in the future!
