He means doing one workout for the rest of the year. Has anyone bought and used a Concept 2 rowERG? Do you love it? I am getting into rowing very soon.
@monkeyb1820
@monkeyb1820 8 ай бұрын
@@brandonmanuel2842 It's a very good product. I do have a rower and do use it some, typically I might do a couple of 2k rows on it. On a moment for moment basis, air-bikes are the toughest and best workout (grueling and can wipe you out quickly). Rowing might be next after that. But the rowerg is set up well for doing hi-intensity intervals, or doing a more moderate pace for 2k, 5k, etc. I see used rowers on fb quite often, and they would be a safe purchase. Best if you can get one from someone who has it at their house and just quit using it, as opposed to one from a crossfit gym where the chain might be a bit stretched, it's taken a bit more of a beating. But you could always give it a test ride.

As a man in my late 50s, I love this workout. I’m rocking it at the gym! Keeping up with your pace, really pushing through and getting 36/37 SPM on the last sprint. I’ve lost 30 lbs in three months with this and a couple of your other intermediate workouts, some running and being a little more careful with diet. Thanks so much Shane!

So glad I found you!! Love my rower. Im an old gal who really let herself go. An RN 30 years who worked through COVID 50+ hrs a week because so many people quit. Poor sleep, bad diet, poor mental health, my boyfriend died recently at 42 and I almost gave up but I dusted off my rower which I bought BEFORE COVID but then hardly used. I can't lay down and die with him as much as I want to. Way more fun to row with you!!!! Thanks muchly!

Hello Shane. I have done this one yesterday at the gym and I really enjoyed it. Especially the last 10 minutes, trying to keep up with you. I even managed to go to 36 s/m. I have decided to do it every Mondays 🙂

This workout is awesome! I can't believe I was able to keep up with you for the last 10 minutes (even to 36 SPM! Woo Hoo!). I have been doing your Perfect Beginner, 20 minute Beginner and Ultimate Beginner workouts at least once a week since the beginning of 2023 to improve my technique. I love the drill work you incorporate! The drill work sets me up to do Concept 2 WODs and a couple of your intermediate workouts other days of the week. I've been rowing for a while but did not fully understanding the technique. Thank you for all your videos. I'm off to your new cool down.

I have Waterower and, at 6 feet 7 tall, very long arms. I find any SPM above 28 difficult to maintain because above that rate I don’t feel I am using a complete stroke, I.e. hanging off the handle. Is it a function of the Waterower that unless a stroke is of an optimal minimum length it doesn’t feel as if it“bites”?

Is there a benefit to doing the aerobic first then anaerobic? Could you do the sprints first, or is there a physiological reason for the order?
@DarkHorseRowing
@DarkHorseRowing Жыл бұрын
I prefer to ask for the aerobic first to allow the body to have the energy to focus on good aerobic rather than sloppy aerobic which would happen if you hit the intensity first. It also gives you a bit of a warmup in to it. I like intensity when there’s a psychological demand to reach for because you’re already a little tired as well. But could you swap them? Sure. It’s not going to hurt you.

On one video you said rowing 2 times per week is just right, 1 is not enough, and 3 is too much. I get the impression that the "once a year workout" should be done consistently and does that mean every day? John

I never know what resistance should I use when rowing. When I leave the resistance at the lowest point (1 of 16... I dont have concept 2) and row hard, I still have a great workout (although my split times are probably too good to be true). What is the resistance I should use? Should I go middle? Or leave it at the lowest? Thank you for great videos!
