I've only gotten like 2 games of blatant cheaters on CS2 so far. In my experience most cheaters are so bad that they genuinely think good players are just cheating which is why they decide to cheat.

I switched to faceit, since i felt like the ranking system is super bad and inconsistent.. Our faceit lvl 10 players are between 10000-15000, and either we win the game 2-13 or we start winning and then suddenly enemy just knows way too much.. The feeling that you are unsure that is the enemy cheating is always there on premier since its way more likely than in faceit..

We face players that are significantly worse than us in premier, we played only placements and 10-15 matches, blatant cheaters and kinda obvious cheaters and then a lot of noobs without real gamesense.. Causing very much inconsistancy and no real fun even struggle games.. But to be fair the game is really unbalanced atm, the peakers advantage is insane, they should just disable subtick and introduce 128t Having two seperate tickrate systems do really cause a lot of problems.. Idk, maybe they can tweak it and make it work flawless someday but atm its bs..

To be honest VAC is not flawed just because it's not kernel level, it's even horribly bad for a user-level anticheat. As an example, Apex on Linux uses a user-level version of EAC that actually stops cheaters, and works fine, it didn't introduce more cheaters to the game. Personally, I'm stuck with cheaters because none of these anti-cheat systems are compatibile with Linux, so I gotta play matchmaking.

I don't know why Valve refuses to use a kernel-level anti cheat when 1. Everyone in the community from esports pros to casual players wants it 2. It's proven to work in Val, Apex, Fortnite, etc. 3. There have been no anti cheat related security breaches in the aforementioned games There's no downside in my mind. If they think some of the player base would quit because of it, poll active players on Steam. I'm 99% sure the number of people who want a better anticheat outweighs the number of extremely privacy-conscious people 10 to 1. Apex and Fortnite use Easy, Escape from Tarkov uses Battleye. Both AC services are "ring 0" and all 3 games have cheating problems. "Proven to work" my ass. Making more invasive ACs will never fix the issue because cheat makers will find new exploits and reverse-engineer them no matter how early in the boot process they load. I'm hoping neural nets will be the long-term solution since they aren't invasive, adapt to new cheats dynamically, and (hopefully) perform better than manually written code.

those games (except val) use EAC and all have cheats, the only thing EAC does is make cheats more expensive and they get detected every few months or so (very hard to stay undetected on EAC for any real length of time) edit: also fortnite uses a combo of EAC and battleye along with a third anti cheat as well, fortnite cheats are very expensive (costing more for a month subscription than most cs2 cheats cost for unlimited lifetime use)

Terrible thing about premier is being good at the game when you have really high premier elo and under 2k faceit elo, as someone who at the end of csgo was sure that I will be playing only ingame mm (yeah I am an idiot) I am all the time ocused of cheating, every few matches I play enemy is mad and calling me "mhm yeah lvl8 talent; yeah of course lvl8" it shows how people more trust some website than actual game devs. I am back to faceit and I can finally have fun again instead of just waiting for spinbotter finish the game (on top 5k people it's about 40% matches with spinbotters and almost every match with someone I could think is cheating - AND IF NOT I or some of my friends are called cheaters. Thank you faceit for being here even if I hate a lot of features there.

my last premier and matchamking matches: 1-13, 3-13, 9-13 like wtf is this... I play duos and we often end up facing 5 stacks, cheaters or simply insanely good players meanwhile my team almost always has no clue what they are doing. Don't get me wrong i am in low elo and i am pretty bad myself, but the thing which is holding me back is my aim and utility items like smokes. But my team often has different problems: they wait all round, only push AFTER you did the work, flaming, blocking people and all of that good stuff. I just want to have fair matches, but enemies seem insane while my team is worse than silver. Even if the enemies are bad they 1 tap me and my buddy when we enter and when teammates play they suddenly suck, but a little less than they do so they still get kills.

I tried FaceIt and I just dont have fun on it. I'd much rather play premier but as many people said it sucks having to question if the guy is just nasty at the game or if hes cheating. FaceIt just doesnt incentives me as much as id like it to. I'm only around 9k elo or like MG1/2. So on faceit, I either get the smurfs that play with no crosshair to "make up for smurfing" , the kids that say "I saw s1mple playing it so i downloaded it" and have less than 100 hours on the game or the have teammates that flame because i dont know every line up and cant bhop around the map. As most people have said, same thing in Faceit too. First half goes great. Team is doing awesome. Then suddenly at the half, the enemy suddenly becomes the best player in the world and knows too much.

in cs right before cs2 dropped i had played some global games and people on the other team had blatant spin bot... with our full stack reporting and multiple on their team (who were randoms not friends w hacker) reported and to this day he is still not banned. Just get comfortable playing all competitive maps, learn some basic grenades for each and you are good to go. (I think it's something around 15k premier elo, when you should be somewhat comfortable at starting faceit. Could be wrong. Idc.)

Faceit is a more niche community so it's easier to ban obvious cheaters manually through admin review. This, along with the added hassle of downloading a third party client and maybe paying for their subscription, makes the cost-reward balance skewed against cheaters and encourages them to remain in MM. It has less to do with the AC imo. Ban waves are a consequence of Valve working to make a better AC. Once a new fix to detect a specific kind of cheat is quietly added, accounts get banned. Then new exploits are developed and the cycle repeats. The only way to NOT have a "wave-like" ban process is to have an AC that continuously adapts to new cheats. That's why they moved to VACnet and machine learning. The neural net behind VACnet almost definitely needs to be re-trained from scratch on new demos from CS2 because of the new engine. It's a technical challenge that will take time to implement. Think of the state of cheaters in GO right before Valve did their GDC talk on VACnet, versus a year after. At least in NA, I noticed far fewer cheaters over time. They are probably in a similar position to where they were then, where they had an incomplete or half-baked model that needed more data. Overwatch doesn't exist (yet?) in CS2 so I have no idea how they are gonna go about that. For now, building small communities of competitive players that can be manually moderated is still the only way to prevent cheating in an effective and ethical way, and that goes for any online game. Waiting for the AI overlords to take the reigns any time now...

As long as FaceIt exists, MM will always be a lost cause and Valve's over reliance on the community to fix the most basic of issues has only done more harm than good. Valve's best option is to completely kill any ranked mode in MM and partner with FaceIt making the FaceIt servers the official ranked/competitive/path to pro mode along with FaceIt AC being the main anti-cheat.

The matchmaking is absolutely ruined in low levels, I was gn1 in go and I am now silver one on dust 2 and can't even win games in premier. Yesterday I played 2 games and got an opponent that went 43-5 and the next game I had 2 brand new teammates who were learning keyboard and mouse😂

It's seriously incredible though. The reason everyone left matchmaking to places like faceit and esea was because of two reasons. It wasn't competitive enough, and the stupid ass cheating problem. Premier could've perfectly solved the first problem of competitiveness if we had unified player base, but now we're all separating again because Valve is unable to learn their lesson on not working on the cheater problem. Valorant isn't amazing to me, but god damn their anti-cheat is fantastic, and frankly necessary. Most players realize how bad cheating is. Valve needs intrusive, on boot service level anti-cheat. in my experience the amount of great matches have increased by a lot. so there is some improvement on my end but i do still run into bad match making, get put with brand new accounts, toxic players (throwing, intentional de ranking, intentional team killing) and sometimes cheaters. it is a better experiance for me than my time with go by a mile but is still not a game i would recommend to someone who values their time because i know early on in their match making they will be turned off from the game before valve even determines their ranking, before they can get a feel for why people like this game they will get a feel for why people dont. I try to think of what this game would be like to someone whos new and all i an think of is they would say why the hell would someone play it when they run into cheaters potentially on official servers in their first few games. it is unfortunate but cheating aside there are a lot of players in the community as well just simply ruining the experiance for others and im not sure there would be a better solution for that. youtubers can set better examples to be positive toward valve and the game to not create a culture of people trying to bring it down but that would only go so far. i'm not sure the best steps to take forward to reach perfection in the end but it has to start with better communication from valve and more frequent and consistent communication about what they are planning with the game and how they are addressing the complaints people have and the cheaters. without this you just have a bunch of pissed off players assuming this and that giving the game a bad name. They could prevent so much negative escalation but they dont. its hard to understand valve. they make what i see as a perfect timeless game but they can't properly execute it so that a majority isnt having a negative experiance. I think a lot of changes made from go to 2 are underrated and will be better for the game long term but it still has sooo far to go. go was a good game on and off. it had its high points and low points on and off and in the end after allthat work all those updates valve binned it and reworked everything. it makes you wonder if its just going to go exactly the same where the game never reaches its potential and then just bin it and move on in the end.

Since the "official" release of CS2, Ive played 1 of my 10 placement matches and that was it for me and COD.... I mean CS2. Im going to let it simmer until the end of the year, if it is still dog shit, Im going to dump my skins and cashout before high tier market desolves. Cheating will effect gameplay first and then the high tier market second. The rest of the average player market will survive but why would collectors keep skins for a game that nobody wants to play.

My experience tells me the CS community has the worst case of Stockholm syndrome + Sunk Cost Fallacy in the history of gaming and will keep sucking up the tears of laughter rolling down Gabens cheeks as he keeps filling his pockets with skin money. while half the community is willing to turn a blind eye to these cheating dogs ruining the game for years.

Cheaters are usually so delusional when it comes to CS that they simply cannot accept that there are people better than them, which leads to them accusing legit players of cheating. Besides, since they only play with cheats, they already know how it is like to play against other cheaters, which means that in some cases if legit player happens to do something sketchy (a kill through smoke etc), they'll instantly justify their actions as trying to beat the other cheater, instead of actually using their brain for more than few seconds. Most people that cheat have extremely fragile egos and they genuinely get satisfaction from winning with cheats (well, I can't really blame them. Winning is part of human nature). They can't stand the thought of losing a match, especially if they think enemy is cheating to the point where they would rather lose their account than lose the game.

FaceIT is a good option to get less cheaters but just about every DMA/hardware hack bypasses it. Ive lost count of the amount of demos ive reviewed then made videos and submitted to get people banned from faceit due to cheats. Cheating will always be here in CS, too much money made from it.

I just dont get why valve doesnt apply riot standards, valorants ranked system is much better,good 128 tick servers and an anticheat, ig they just cba to invest in their game...(some cs gamers say its ok just play faceit but most of my friends dont play faceit, only ppl who care or play faceit are the more time invested players). Edit: I see how if ur into cs or very much invested it its just go play faceit, still tho doesnt change the fact it divides the community and turns new players off which isnt good for a comp game

Premier is awesome as a warmup for Faceit, nothing more, nothing less. I use it regularly for that purpose.

nice video bro, but even faceit has plenty and plenty of cheaters... faceit allows accounts with no prime to play. in my last 10 games, all players I played against didn't even bother to make a profile like they create a steam account, download the cheat and started playing faceit

I've watched a lot of videos and i saw people even defending overwatch, like overwatch system was just you the PLAYER waisting your time doing THEIR JOB, they have TONS of cash and they can hire people to just do this a team of 10-15 people and they have to just watch videos and ban people depending on what they see.

Valve doesn't deserve the kind of attention their game gets for the amount of care they put into it. We should just refuse to play the game until they do the bare minimum to give us a reasonable experience.

sadly im playing in low elo therefor if i go out with 30+ kills i get at least 4 reports and the reports keep on stacking each game NOW im at a point where EVERY comp match i get at least one cheater. why? i just have a feeling that the matchmaker matches a cheater with hundreds of reports with me also hundreds of reports thinking both players are 95% cheating something isnt right if you get reported every game. the thing is i have legit 2,4k hour 3k inventory steam level 51 many games etc. and i check their profiles and i see steam level 1 AND 3 ACCOUNTS THAT ARE VAC BANNED linked in their bio or comments full of -rep cheater inventory worth 20 cents 200 hours 4 friends and surely one of them is already vac banned they dont bother to unfriend them. I CANT EMPHASIZE IT ENOUGH... EVERY GAME AT LEAST ONE! if valve thinks im cheating go ban me DONT put me into games with cheaters every game MAKE ME STOP PLAYING THIS GAME

edit: when i started playing csgo mainly and started cs2 the accounts i got matched up against were probably legit no steam level 2 bullshit 100 hours no friends no games non of that, but after maybe 10 or 15 games of collecting reports i was back in those cheater lobbys, i feel like valve gave me a chance in cs2 to "stop doing what you are doing to get reports" but i still got reported probably and now i want to cry again because im back in the same situation as in csgo... cs2 was so much fun playing against legit profiles but here we are again...

people can joke about vanguard being an intrusive chinese virus that breaks your pc, but ultimately, having played valorant since the beta, ive only ever played against ONE cheater. one single cheater over 3 years of gameplay. that match didnt even make it to the second half - the guy got banned, my rank was entirely unaffected, and my friends and i only gave the situation any further thought for as long as it took to queue into the next match. counter strike will NEVER have the mass appeal and universal staying power valorant has achieved if valve keeps dropping the ball on their matchmaking like this. if people cant just click on a button in-game to be quickly put into a fair and competitive environment, most just wont bother. so disappointing to see valve stick to their guns with such a deeply flawed and archaic way of dealing with cheaters - it doesnt matter if you ban them after a month so that they wont know what setting did them in, all the people whose games were ruined by that person in that month either quit for valorant or play on faceit now.

Its very hard to know how good you really are, since everything gets watered down by cheaters... had a cheater yesterday. It happened exactly what you say, our stack disbanded after that. When pointing out that the enemy team was cheating, they didn't even deny it. They said its justified, since they need to boost their friend ... (?!)
