100% agree. Many play styles out there. All should be allowed to game as they want. This should be a positive environment! Not a negative one. Most are to scared to get out of a comfort zone to try a new way to see if it's fun. That's ok too. It's the difference in play style that helps build this community.

Hear ye, hear ye! I, admittedly, do get a little testy when I see people trying to gatekeep the hobby as a whole. It's fine to only game with those whose interests closely align with your own; that's each individual's prerogative. Personally, I've always been fine with doing my own thing, in my own way; but, in talking about gaming with other gamers, of all different stripes, I occasionally pick up new tricks (including ones of my own invention), just from seeing the hobby through the perceptual lenses of others.

If people are criticizing people for their role playing ability are silly. I have not ever seen any sort of incredible acting ability at any table I have been at or even any of the live streams I have seen. The only exception is maybe something like Critical Role and those peeps are all voice actors. Even some of the famous actors I have watched with live streams were nothing to write home about. So people should lighten up on this sort of expectation

I agree completely. It's one thing to dislike a certain rules set or certain types of content but that can be solved by being part of a like minded group. But it's something completely different to demonize and dehumanize a group for wanting to play their way. Within reason of course. If you're part of a group that wants to sexually assault NPCs or something else that's just horrific then go get some therepy.

Put the kibosh on group/game drama by weeding out the dramatic players causing problems for everyone else if you can't handle "toxic" bants & shenanigans. It's better to have a conflict-free zone if people can't separate jokes & characters from reality. But if you have a perpetually offended person bogging down the game - S/HE is the problem player, not everyone else. 😎
