Very good. You should do an example of a hexcrawl back and forth from the dungeon to the city. It's an important part of Old School play.

The characters don't have to die. You could say the hellhounds had a master who stopped the creature from killing them. Next scene the PCs are barely alive and captured. How will they escape?
