Great video Dave. You do a good job of illustrating how a major pentatonic scale based on the 5 chord (D) sounds great over the G chord progression. Sounds like Skynyrd! Well done and easy to follow.

oh man...another killer lesson. I have learnt more from your videos over the last few months than from any other guitar teacher on youtube. You actually teach in true sense of teaching and throw in bitesize theory without overwhelming us. More than anything I actually really enjoy connecting your jam track to my looper and then playing over it non stop. I had it going for over an hour in one single session! Keep them coming Dave.

So glad you are enjoying “The Twang” Zak. Practicing with the loops is the key to really absorbing the skills, then later you can apply them to other progressions, keys, songs, etc. Keep on jammin 😎

I own an 89 "real" Studio in black exactly like yours. No F holes, but not the BB deal of same time. At first, I didn't like it as it was a gift from my awesome mom in the Eigtees, b/c it had no F holes and it wasn't a "real" 335, now I realise how cool it is to have and own one as they are real Gibson before the "Studiod" of today lack a lot of the quailty. Great sound. I was told mine has "sticky finger" pups?

I like it a lot. Makes more acoustic sound so it’s harder to separate it from the vocal mic. I’ve had two, both from the 80s. This is the better of the two. Studios are great for the money. Good to hear from you 😎

So if you take any major do-re-mi scale, and instead of starting on "do" you start on "sol" (on the V instead of on the I) that yields "sol myxolidian'?
@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons
@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons 3 жыл бұрын
You got it! And that mixolydian scale can be used in a lot of situations over dominant seventh chords, and doesn’t necessarily have to be the V chord in the progression.
