3:15 To answer the question about the “linked” knob, that is referring to how much the compression is affected by left & right channels (i.e. Detector is Stereo, Duo Mono, or some % between the two that you can dial in) Similar to how that knob works on the non-multiband version of the compressor At least, that is my understanding of what it’s supposed to do

Its worded in a weird way in the manual with the sidechain mentioning. Usually when its a channel ( left / right or mid / side ) linked its worded in that way as well. That's why it confuses me.

MBC has replaced the SBC as my drum bus compressor, it's great for balancing the kick snare hat post compression 💯

I used SSL SAND3 Strip with Tone Empire Opto Red...on a analog mix Track I ran through My Sound Craft XL7II and I shot out this on MixBus Against the Opto Red / With Acustica Audio...and Opto Red Won...just sounds Tigher and more Fluid but...more Glued...in a Subtle way......the MBC sounded Rough...meaning...this with Someting like U76 Tim P Nebula Pre Plugin...and SA2URATE...plugin...PA from LoopTrotter....would be one of the best ideas on Drum Bus.....but on Masterbus...it seems to boxy and Brittle....

So from 0:21 until 0:30, the only other compressor that can get from A to Zed is the now-defunct VSTfx plugin by gbSound called "SweetPressor", Drawmer 1973, oldTimerMB, and maybe one Acustica Audio compressor brand. Not Waves C6 M/S!

Interesting. But, Fabfilter MB gives you more bands and upward expansion as well. And so much more! Still, I have to ask, can you have too many compressors?😵‍💫

Ow the Fabfilter MB is way more versitile for sure. But I think you will be using the MBC when you want a character compressor and also some handy, more focussed multiband compression.. For way more surgical stuff the fabfilter will smoke the MBC.

Good question and I have no answer on why this bump is there, outside of the audible range. The SDC has it as well.

Its different for sure. I also sometimes use C4, but i find the threshold settings and ratios a bit annoying to work with.
