Thank u Tomo-san! Such a groovy song and so good to see you playing with Shingo and Toshiki. Guitar Wisdom has been very helpful, I’m learning Autumn Leaves right now! For a request, i’d love anything about current Japanese bands like Yorushika, Yoasobi, or King Gnu. Yorushika’s new songs 「晴る」and 「Rubato」 have a lot of jazz influence that I think you’d really like!

Ty. I love how you teach. 3 months in and i hit a rut. I knew to much but didn’t actually in reality but you show me how to just learn tiny amounts and let it come together in time. Its made a huge impact just keeping it simple as i was running but with no knowledge of the track so would go off key so to speak now i walk slowly but sounds musical then speed it up. Just one video changed so much. Very grateful and was free ❤ all happy playing

Thank you so much for sharing Tomo! I really enjoy listening to you play guitar riffs by George Benson. He's truly one of the best, very clean, pure guitar sound, he can play super fast or slow and makes me think twice about how to really play jazz guitar. His sense of rhythm and vocals are also truly great especially On Broadway where he adds a little something to the beat to make the song stand out more, just The Two Of Us sounds completly different yet it's George. Thanks again.

Yes! In this case, try to play minor scale on 1st string and try to find a good melody first. then maybe you can learn the structure of each chords. Triads, 7th chords and use those chord tone on part of your soloing. So need to learn something new & practice them so you can apply them. So much fun! Thank you so much!

Hello from someone who's obsessed with yakult and music, Mr. Fujita! I was trying to improv over this song and I noticed how I tend to repeat patterns or lines once I try to play faster to the point where I play the same thing for other songs. Do you have any advice on how I could stop falling into a pattern and play something refreshing when I try to play faster? Much love and respect, YakultLover72

Do you teach individually beginners sometimes or you teach only very gifted people that way?
@TomoFujitaMusic4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. I teach anyone who has a lot of passion. Somebody can be good at or better than others but there is no "Gifted people" I was just normal person who had a lot of passion & figured out how to improve my playing ability by pure hard work & solid clear plan ... not just quantity of hours. That's way too easy! I teach foundation to all my students but each person has a special personality so I choose a specific timing of choosing right material for that person with appropriate pace. Tell Ibanez to make the AZES31 in left-handed format! The only left-handed guitar they make that comes close to this one is the AZES40, and that has different pickups -- a Humbucker in the bridge position, and two single-coils in the middle and neck positions. Doesn't seem to have the same tone because of the different pickups, but maybe it's my imagination.

I usually love Tomo, but I've never seen a video titled a chord lesson that was less clear about the actual chords being played. He even skips one of the chords entirely when going through the chords at the beginning, playing the melody instead of that chord. This video was really frustrating. Videos that claim to teach chords of a song should actually teach the chords of the song! This video is more about the melody and the gear than about the chords. For those struggling, like me, to just get the names of the chords in order, here they are: D flat maj 7, C7, B maj 7, B flat 7, A maj 7, A flat 7, D flat maj 7, G flat 13
