That’s outstanding! That’s without a doubt my very favorite cover of that tune heretofore, and yes, we’ve had plenty to compare it to. Her vocals are just so full and pure and wonderfully resonant. The arrangement is perfectly apropos and not overproduced, but succinctly befitting to do what it should: support her beautiful vocal. Roxann and I both LOVED it! The ORIGINAL frontwoman for legendary R&B/funk/soul band Rufus (Chaka Khan was her immediate successor)! Glad to see she's still doing what she loves best after all this time, what a welcome relief 😮‍💨😌🙏. I also enjoy her daughter Brigette's music as well (1997's 'Too Much Woman' still remains one of the greatest "unsung" female R&B/soul albums OF ALL TIME, folks!).
