Loved it. Whether the bed scene itself was the whole thing that shocked the room or if she wanted to imply something darker, the ambiguity of the ending allows a lot of theories to work that putting a canon on would just take away from the art of it. Once out of the artist's hands, the viewer may interpret it in ways they find meaningful, and even make the creator look at things from a new point of view. At that point, it's easier to just let people enjoy it their own way then telling them how to do so.

The scene with Marine and Red Gura naked in bed is a reference to a common trope in anime, where the purest essence of a person is naked in a metaphysical or surreal landscape. This usually represents something like their spirit, psyche or mind. When they're with another person this is a symbolic representation of vulnerability, direct mental contact, or a stripping away of social and psychological barriers. Ah, I knew from how Marine was and the heart eyes that she was desperately attracted to Gura from the first glance. A happy, adorable summer/short fling that the song reminisces on and wished didn't end. Felt like Marine at the end thought it wasn't quite as reciprocated (emotionally) until she got 'eaten' by Gura, as I took the bed handholding and the light shift in it to show Marine taking the 'lead' into that portion. Gura, right before she was about to leave, being able to reciprocate and lead it herself seemed to make it a happier moment for Marine, as it showed to her that Gura was just as invested into it as she was. Short or not, it was wonderful for both, which is why I think it turns nostalgic and happier towards the end. I had assumed that the part where Gura basically swallows Marine whole was just a dream, since the scene jumps to Marine waking up in the bed scene. But even when Senchou says that she won't give her canon interpretation, now that she gave the context of disturbing off the rails MV's from the past, I realize that the scene was probably the other way around: Gura does literally eat Marine and so they end up together forever, and it's the bed scene that's symbolic of that...

1:23 I get what Marine is saying, to be honest, and I know saying this is quite taboo in the grand scheme of things, but going along with what marine is talking about, when I was watching the mv, I honestly really thought this was like a send off music video and Gura was like going to graduate or something lol. It had that bittersweet feeling of having fun with Gura and sending her off, it really scared me lol, but i'm glad that was not the case and that was me reading WAY too much into it, but she really nailed that feeling.

honestly after listening to this i think what marine *intended* was gura ate marine (because marine said 'i wish this never ended') to fulfill her wish, and then returned to the sea, but honestly when i watched it, the story seemed so much softer and sweeter and since marine won't release a canon story anymore, i much prefer to think it was "ate" in a fun way 😏
