Hold on, let’s play that again. On the rebound here Lebron is literally the last guy back. So how in the world did he zoom past the entire Pacer defense all the way for the layup.
And it wasn’t just that. This is the exact same thing, last guy back but look at him flying down the court and he’s gonna be 39 in a few weeks. This is absolutely astonishing.
James had a bunch of these coast to coast runs that ended either with a finish at the rim or with a foul, as it seemed like he wanted to leave everything on the floor, every ounce of energy in order to get that first in-season tournament title.
Right here he is muscling inside, the double team comes but look at the pump fake here and even tho he misses the bunny, Lebron fights for the rebound and puts it back in. Now this is the will to win.
24 points and 11 rebounds along with phenomenal performances in the previous games made him the MVP of the tournament. Now this is something that MJ for sure doesn’t have over him. This finally makes Lebron the goat, am I right?! All jokes aside tho, in this game Anthony Davis was actually the top dog.
And you can spell that D A W G because look at this face. This instantly reminded me of Lebron’s iconic look against Boston.
Look at him flying outside to close out on the shot, then hustling right back to the paint and getting this rejection on Bruce Brown.
Davis had 4 blocks in this game, but it was the offensive domination that got the win for the Lakers.
Look at this lightning quick spin against Turner finishing it off with the nice flip shot.
And the pick and roll with Lebron is unstoppable so you got this…
It wasn’t just the assists that he took from Lebron, but there was some valuable advice as well from the mastermind.
With how inconsistent he is, I feel like the Lakers were sooo lucky to catch him on one of his good days just in time for the championship.
And it was a monster game. 41 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. With numbers like that, I guess you can say that you’re him.
41 points on 66% and everything was in the paint. In fact, this was the case for LA as a team.
They scored 86 points in the paint against Indiana. This is not a typo, 86 out of the 123 points total were inside, close to the basket.
There was no messing around with fancy long range shots as the Lakers only shot 13 times from downtown.
Seriously winning a game in today’s NBA by going 2 for 13 from beyond the arc is mind blowing.
But it was something they did on defense that won’em them game.
Follow Haliburton who’s being chased by Vanderbilt way out here. As soon as he runs away from him, it’s Max Christie right in front. On the screen now we got a trap with Anthony Davis.
And let me stop it right here for you to see this. 4 Lakers defenders surrounding Tyrese.
But as we let it roll, I am shocked by LA’s recovery and getting back to their man, as they get the steal right here. Amazing.
In this situation they got 3 guys all over Hali. The Lakers just wanted to get the ball out of his hands, and make somebody else beat them.
Just look at this trap right at half court. It’s extremely rare you see a team trapping this high up.
The Lakers did it consistently in this game, and with good reason because it really paid off for them.
Granted, there were a few situations where Myles Turner would make a shot, or Bruce Brown would hit one of his floaters, but that was LA’s point. Force the other guys consistently make the right decisions in a split second and knock down a shot with the rotation guy coming over at them.
So ultimately it turned out that they weren’t able to sustain that.
The defensive plan was obvious as soon as the game started but even before tipoff D’Angello Russell sort of hinted at it in the pre-game interview.
Tyrese had gone 76 minutes without a turnover, and the Lakers forced him into 2 right at the start of the game in the first 3 minutes.
Obviously this had an impact on him and I believe that other teams will look at this game and will try to implement things for their matchups against Haliburton and Indiana.
So look. In the quarterfinals this team exposed Phoenix’s lack of athletic bigs, punishing them time and time again. I made a video about it explaining everything.
Then in the semis, the Lakers absolutely exposed Zion’s offensive shortcomings as Lebron guarded him like he would guard Ben Simmons. I made a video about that as well and it took off. I’ll make sure to link it at the end.
And now in the finals, LA went after the head of the snake for Indiana and won the game by blitzing Tyrese.
You see how they are methodical and how they look to exploit different teams in different ways.
The Lakers had a phenomenal tournament run and they deservedly take home the money bag.
Damn coach I don’t know how exactly you celebrate christmas but hopefully this half a million will help you survive the holiday season.

What amazed me about this win is that one, the fact that they have only 2 three pointers made. TWO! Against the team where three pointers are their part of the offense. It's like 20-30 years ago when they didnt rely on three pointers, just pure dominance inside and close to the basket. Second is the amazing defense which they held the Pacers to only under 109 points, opposing to their average which is 128 per game. Third, they didn't let Haliburton pop off. Give credit to Cam Reddish, Vando, and AR for their amazing defense against Tyrese. Finally, LeBron and AD. Just pure dominance.

@@BlueGrovyle they only tried 13. Indiana tried 41. That is a massive difference. So your "could have been a blowout" is stupid. If both teams shoot their normal percentage on threes, Indiana wins easily. I'm not a fan of either team. I'm from Denver. I'm just talking about how post game commentary swings wildly based on slim margins. Yes, Davis was a monster and Los Angeles has a lot of tall players, yes they had a good game plan. But Indiana missed a lot of open shots. Play that game again and it's probably a different outcome.

Lebron used to be the most explosive player in the NBA. Could get to the hoop on every possession, but he does that maybe a handful of times a game now. Watch Lebron in transition. Rarely if ever does he sprint back; even if that means the other team gets an easy bucket because he didn't get back. You don't get chase down blocks out of him like you used to either, because he doesn't run the floor. The signs of age catching up to him are there, its just taking longer than most because Lebron got lucky in the gene pool. 5:06 This was the first thing that came to mind as a Timberwolves fan. Shouts out Lakers for showing how defense can shift the opposing team completely off their game and I'm hoping the Timberwolves can do the same. Constantly pressuring on teams like the Suns can be a losing game with how much firepower they have but with Haliburton being the 'head of the snake' as Dlo put it, cut him off and it seems they crash out

False. He has not always been a contender. _LeBron has been unable to to make the Finals in any 82-game season since he's been in L.A.._ ^ There is no denying this. It is 100% factually correct. :) ^ Let that sink in. Facts aren't hate. Quite the opposite - facts are necessary in order to be free (free of a foolish belief, in this case). Have a great day.

The in season tournament was a good idea. The players mostly don't care about the game when they become multi millionaires, so giving them a chance to get a bigger bag seems like the only way to keep them motivated.

This type of basketball is what made the 2020 lakers team & run so special they played this exact way & had depth like this but they was older now they found young guys that are eager to show the league what they bring to the table plus a lot of the lakers shooters don’t improve until around Christmas time which means their shooters should do a lot better after LeBrons birthday at the latest

Having Lebron on your team, no matter his shape, must be such an asset for a young core, and even an old core of players. The amount of fundamentals he possesses is mind blowing. Lebron just makes your team better and is worth every penny. Onviously he isnt a one man team, but he is so good, and I cant wait for him to become a coach one day and keep his incredible basketball mind going

Those who discredit the Lakers' dominance over this game, with BS such as saying that their opponents in their bracket are not even high-seeded or this is not a real title just because Lebron is playing and they hate him with a passion, Is not a true fan of the sport, is not a true baller, doesn't get the girls in school, just sitting on their parents' house typing on their computer. Even if this is just a small title, you can't deny the performance they brought when the game counts. They shut down the best offense in the league, conquered the paint even with Myles Turner in the game, and won without their 3-pointers. They exploited the Pelicans, and they also exploited one of the favorites to win the west this season which is the Suns and KD. So those who discredit the Lakers with a passion, are absolutely STUPID

EPO and HGH aside (not steroids bros lol) the gameplay is incredible. At the end of the day, let's not pretend these are anything more than enhanced regular season games. The legacies are still built in the post season. Super smart for the upcoming business moves, especially with streaming services vying for live sports content. Not to mention the boost this gives the gambling industry.
