I started doing this for a while. The foam planes hold up and clean up better. Especially the edges and areas of a lot of movement, ie. Battery. Hatch wing edges.

To tell you the truth a foam plane will fly better and sometimes are too light. Adding a bit of weight actually improves the way it will fly. Kind of like ballast in a glider.

I have used the spray minwax before. Was wondering how brushing it on would look thanks Shawn.

Question…did you clean the surfaces with anything before using the Minwax? I’ve heard from people that you should remove the mold release on the foam. Also, any paint bleed when brushing the minwax?

How do you keep it out of the slide latch/pin for the hatch. I covered the pin latch with painters tape but still got inside. Any advice or tips…?

I just use a small brush or q-tip for the right areas

@@GRIFFINRCPLANES maybe graphite or baby powder? I will try your suggestion and stay away from it, just touch it up. Just trying to think out of the box lol

Hey, I bought the same paint, but unfortunately it falls off my model, do you apply something before painting? Is one coat enough? Greetings

I'm so curious just for no reason about the weight. I mean specifically the difference between wet/dry etc. I'm going to weigh the can full and empty, the part/plane bare, then wet and finally dry, each coat. Probably hang it from a scale for the whole job.

Doing a clear coat on my planes has never made a difference as far as weight goes and the performance of the aircraft.
