Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. I am a Home Fry (Home Free Fans) and a new subscriber to your channel for more Home Free. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

Home Free is an amazing a cappella band. It’s a “mouth harp” sound that sounds like a didgeridoo. It was being done by Chance, back left. The beatboxer Adam, back right, is an amazing talent and he was doing the harmonica, drums and other sounds. All are amazing singers. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low but also sing up with the tenors. They have a large catalogue of songs and sing all genres. All take the lead depending on the song. 3 of them also write songs so they also have a large number of original songs. Enjoy! 🤩😃

Caution: Home Free is highly addictive! 3 of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They sing (and write) in almost every genre. There is no lead singer, whomsoever sounds best doing so sings lead. There are NO instruments - what you're hearing is all vocal. Fall down the rabbit hole - it's a great trip!

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair. You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos. For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?” For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. Just wait until you hear him whistle! For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with your eyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie and Vincent with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one. Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother, Life Is A Highway). And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either. Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy (Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies, MR), Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney. Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Ring Of Fire", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Skull & Bones" etc.

A very notable thing about Home Free is their collaborations with other musicians. They just released a gorgeous re-recording of Vincent with the original singer-songwriter, Don McLean (not acapella as Don plays guitar and sings). Previously, they recorded with Don a 50th anniversary acapella performance of American Pie. They have collaborated with Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, and a bunch of others. Some are acts that have had big careers already and some are new/newish acts that they give greater exposure to.

I found Home Free during the COVID quarantine while trying to entertain myself searching through KZbin. At the time I didn't realize I had already seen them win the 2013 season of TV's "The Sing Off". The more videos I watched, the more I fell in love with the group. Their videos are great, and they don't take themselves too seriously which allows for a lot of fun with their music. They seem to be IMHO, the best A Capella group around, although each group seems to have their own specialties. Their covers seem to be an improvement to the original song in most cases. All I can say is keep watching them and learn about them. You will never be disappointed!

Home Free seemingly has endless videos, most are covers, and almost all are truly upgrades from the originals. As you have learned, their harmonies are so pure. This is also wonderful a cappella. The drum beat that you hear in this song sounds so perfect, it is easy to believe that there is someone in the background playing a complete drum set. Nope, it is Adam Rupp who also does the harmonica. Those of us who are Home Free followers love to watch reactors discover the magic of Home Free. They are advertised as a Country Vocal Band, but they do a variety of genres. You will be surprised at how wonderful each sounds. If you decide to check out more of their songs, you will discover that "Home Fries" will follow.

Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He will be leaving the group in the fall. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean: Vincent (newest release) Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Billy Gilman:One Voice Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Any many many more. They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim,Austin and Chance so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) When A Loves A Woman Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Unchained Melody Butts Medley/ Remix Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR ( mister) (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Might As Well Be Me ( Original) Playing With Fire ( Original) Remember My Name (Original) Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Cruise I Want Crazy Colder Weather Ring Of Fire ( 2024 version) Jump Right In Any Way The Wind Blows I’ve Seen Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

Hi there. The main beat boxer and the one that does the harmonica, his name is Adam Rupp. Him and his brother Chris originally started the band. Chris then left and was replaced with the smaller guy with the beard and his name is Adam Chance. In the opening sequence what sounds like a didgeridoo is actually him. The big fella with the beard and the glasses is Rob Lundquist and that guy has a voice of an angel. The main guy singing with the red hair and beard is Austin Brown. Finally and very much not least we come to the bass which is Tim Faust. If you think his voice is low in this one, you should check out the cover of Ring Of Fire that they do. They don’t just do country music. They pretty much will turn their hand to any type of music and some of the funnier ones are, “the butts Melody and the song by Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass “. I think you will enjoy all of those. Thank you so much for doing this one as I am a homefry. That is what any fan of Home Free is known as. Take care of yourself and blessings to you from England.

The instrument you keep wondering about has been known colloquially in the south for more than150 years as a "Jews harp". It is a curved piece of metal clenched between the teeth and it has a spring like part that one twangs on. I don't know what the proper name is for it.

Also sometime called a mouth harp, jaw harp or juice harp. I think those last two are used to avoid saying Jew's - we are conditioned against ethnic identifiers, but of all the things that are said about Jews, identifying them with this instrument is pretty danged benign, especially when you consider all the Nazi propaganda being spouted on the college campuses of late.

The Jew's harp, also known as jaw harp, juice harp, or mouth harp, is a lamellophone instrument, consisting of a flexible metal or bamboo tongue or reed attached to a frame. Despite the colloquial name, the Jew's harp most likely originated in Siberia, specifically in or around the Altai Mountains, and is of Turkic origin and has no relation to the Jewish people. Other names: Jew's harp, jaw harp, mouth harp, Ozark harp, juice harp, murchunga, guimbarde, mungiga, vargan, trompe

I was so pleased when you finally came up for a breath!! It is a lot to take in and I could see that you’ve already received many suggestions. Make sure to check out How Great Thou Art for those satisfying harmonies. Home Free’s catalog is deep, as they’ve been around for 20+ years. And they have said goodbye to a few, but have ultimately put together these five incredibly talented artists. We will be losing Austin Brown at the end of their current tour, but they are busy making sure to find just the right person to continue on. I will be watching for your next Home Free video. Keep smiling! 🎶 Cyd #HomeFree

nice reaction aileen. theses guys are certainly talented and unique. as you noticed... all the sounds you hear are human made and there are no traditional instruments used. if you like this kind of creativity and authenticity, i highly recommend postmodern jukebox (aka pmj). they take current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. their rendition of "creep" with haley reinhart is an absolute masterpiece... enjoy! 😎

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me, Colder Weather and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

You have just dipped your toes into the world of HOME FREE. They have lots of fun together in many of their videos, like "Butts Remix". Tim (the bass) really drops the anchor in a few songs (i.e. Ring of Fire) and Adam does a "Drum Solo" while the rest of the guys take a break. I will warn you though, it does not take much and you will start calling yourself a "Home Fry" as well.
