If I only had to pick one set from the theme to get, it would easily be this one. It's not only iconic, but it's very accurate to the games, you get the main hero and villain, and I feel the value is fair here. Also, is the mech large enough to call it Minifigure Scale?

I think the speed sphere blowing up the robot thing is supposed to take several hits like in the games. I couldn't get a good look at the connection that keeps the back on, but i think it's made for a more "work that sucka' to death" type of play

Big agree about the transparent canopy. Especially when Lego already went through the effort to print the mech's eyes which make seeing him inside kinda redundant. Other than that a really well built, and mostly accurate design with a fun play feature. Also great for anyone who wants to make the Idea's release more accurate to the original submission. This and the Tails plane set feel like the strongest of the wave.

Honestly, the clear and very spherical cockpit isn’t that bad. I honestly kind of like being able to see egg man inside, I get it’s not for everyone. As cool as it would be to have it a flesh tone to represent the generations design, think about how cursed it would be, with the bulbous head shape. Sure it would add emphasis to the large brain of doctor egg man, but it’s still unnecessary

I do love the clear dome on the death egg robot because it makes it feel like the egg mobile is in the robot and it reminds me of sonic lost world. However they should’ve took the design from lego dimensions and made that a Lego set instead of making an entirely new model

Technically the Sonic Generations Death Egg Robot's dome is the SAME grey & tan mix as Sonic 2/Mania, you just have to look at the model from other angles.

The, I think the colors of the nose and mustache are far more jarring and off than the dome. Maybe a coral cone for the nose and dark orange for the mustache would work better, and i think the eyes are too small they should've been at least twice the size. Maybe a printed or even stickered rounded 2x4 would be better, but the best would be a printed dome.

Minifigure ideas: 1. Super sonic 2. A grey metallic metal sonic Minifigure with bolted leg and chest printing along with red eyes and a grey translucent spinning capsule to rival sonics blue spinner. Make the play feature for more characters. (a red spinner for knuckles and shadow or a pink one for amy)

I just wish knuckles was in this set too. Also I don't much like the cubot design. It doesn't much look like cubot body wise. I personally don't mind the dome piece because it's dark enough to not bother me. I'm just so glad that sonic is finally getting the lego sets he deserves.

I think the translucent dome is based on an IDW cover (IDW 6) which...I know is a stretch but the build in Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge set with the beach chair is based directly off of one of the covers as well (IDW 41). I think a fix is to change some of the pieces behind the eyes and nose from grey to tan.

1. No orbot with cubot :( 2. flicky capsule lacks a spring top and caution stickers which Lego has plenty of. 3. Could have added 3 extra spike peices to make both arms the same or for creating your own, smaller spike hazard. The canon arm looks more appropriate for an egg dragoon set which is fine.

For sonic Generations they also would use a gray dome. While it has the flesh tone at the front just like all the others the back is still gray if you look close. the reason it appears flesh colored is because the mech is looking at the screen most of the fight so you can't really get a good look at the back.

While I personally like the cockpit, the generations design leaves a lot less details out such as the antennas around the side, shoulder printing, and details behind and around the heels, etc. All of them do have bolts going around the waist which isn't a major detail, but adds to the robotic design. Most of the jetpacks don't have a rounded/bubbled design at the bottom. That could have been a great opportunity to add a play feature where the jets widen to open

Overall, the body of the death egg is EXTREMELY faithful to generations and looks nearly identical, from the jet pack, to the legs, and most of the body. The only thing that stands out from generations is its gun hand and the weird, glass cockpit

I am disappointed about no knuckles though
