Pete, I just love watching your channel. I have farmed my whole life in some way. While doing that I also worked in engineering at a fortune 100 corporation. Not easy. I LOVE your ideology about “TIME”, and I can not agree more! I was offered early retirement at age sixty, eight years ago, and I accepted with NO REGRETS. After forty-two years in the utilities biz, I was READY! I now spend my TIME on my farm, doing what I want, on my schedule, with a few exceptions. I did not want to “die on the job” like so many of my acquaintances. I wanted (NEEDED) TIME for me, and my family. Thanks Pete, for that reminder.

My youngest g-daughter lil Miss Cassidy came running down the hall from her room when she heard “ C’mon COWS “. This girl has not been exposed to real cattle due to the fact she lives in a suburban environment . She is completely fascinated by videos of your cows. She curls up under my arm on the couch, and makes me rewind back to her favorite parts !!! That ….for me ….is a very good morning. Creating memories ….. have a good one Pete !!

I feel like with cattle, the energy you put in, is the energy you get out. You yell and hit them, they’ll get angry and frustrated. You talk calmly to them and keep your movements soft and gentle - that’s what you get back.

I always enjoy listening to your thoughts about stuff. I also as you worked 47 years but indoors as a manager. I then stopped and went to my second stage in life doing Property Maintenance as a landscaper outdoors 15 years now. I also view things much different as I age. I remember when I would wash my wife's car and all of mine every Friday. I stopped doing it 15 years ago and do not miss it a bit. This year October I will be semi retiring and looking forward to it. As you say it truly is about Time. Another year another season. I live in the City and not so much a fan of it. The people almost remind me of Ants (no offense just saying) seeing everyone going to and from work always in a hurry. I do not miss any of that. I truly focus on the little things now and Mother Nature. The dirt and soil seem to bring me back to my roots.

Hello Hillary and Pete from Australia. I’ve been watching your channel for a number of years now and really enjoy the natural way you go about telling your story and how you achieve so much with so little. I too had a long executive career like Pete, after having grown up in a modest farming environment. Now we are back home where I grew up and run a 1200 acre mixed beef cattle and cropping operation on Australia’s Southern Darling Downs - about 2.5 hours south east of the Queensland city of Brisbane. I’m 64 years young and am still full of energy for this lifestyle. Indeed I’ve been working all my life to just be a farmer. Thankfully our youngest son has the farming passion because without his work we wouldn’t have a chance of holding this place together. We care about the land and embrace what we would call a pragmatic regenerative farming approach which is what I think you do. I like making old things new again also but in my case the colour green is king 😬. Anyway I didn’t mean to write an essay. Just wanted to say hello and thank you both for the inspiration you provide for folk like us.

You are so right with the herds calmness with a person that handles them every day with a calm demeanor, it's how I handle my herd. Also with your reflection and contemplation of the change or how your life is going to change. A calm farmer is felt by the farmers animals, makes them feel calm because they feel your calm. Moving about them talking.....calm, reaching out but not in an agressive manor. I think for the most part we can feel the change coming in our lives, we may not see it, or even begin to move in that direction. Seeing, reacting to this change to late, you tend to miss out in, enjoying your life to the fullest. Thank you for sharing this time, with us Pete.
