@@ChaoticWitchAunt Hi there chaotic witch, it's not even that simple. How many millions of farmers were pushed off the land during the Great Depression, families may have lived there for five or more generations. The whole money system assumes that whoever buys land has 100% righteousness and entitlement to that land, while those who live without land are unworthy of land. Those who buy land will argue till the death that they own the land and they will barricade it against encroachment by others, right up until the day when their heirs wish to flog it off in a fire sale. The money system is based upon that notion.

@@ChaoticWitchAunt I don't want to be 'that guy', but I have to say something on this subject. Your implication is that people of European descent have no right to the land that they have bought/worked/cultivated/settled. This suggests that the land only belongs to those who lived there prior to the European settlers. But did that land belong to one people? There were 500 nations in North America before Columbus ever set foot here. Nations that occasionally warred with each other and fought for resources. Which people did the land belong to back then? While you were attempting to establish the moral superiority of the Native American, your statement becomes racist in that it implies that one Native American is the same as any other Native American, and their claim as a whole has precedence over any European's claim. Your position on this matter is nothing more than white guilt and cultural self-loathing. It fails to take into the consideration all the different peoples that claimed the land before the white settlers ever arrived. Land 'belongs' to whoever can bond with it and maintain their claim on it. ...whether by force, or legal documents. ...IF you can say it belongs to anyone. I do apologize for the tone of this post. I do adore you, and value what you do with this channel, but I could not let this pass unaddressed.
@cosmob.48953 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyt1175 I think maybe you are hung up on the implications of 'ownership'. I can't speak for the KZbinr, but personally I shift away from ownership and acknowledge the relationships that people have and do have to the land. Living on indigenous land myself, acknowledging myself as a settler is less so about me absolving my own relationship to the land and more so acknowledging and being open to the deep relationships that the indigenous people of the region have had for time immemorial. Land ownership for me is more of an earthly matter, that is materialistic in a way (nothing really belongs to me/I take nothing to the grave). That being said, the earthly matter of acknowledging rightful land ownership in the context of colonized lands is deeply important in my opinion to mending not only our relationships as people to one another but also the land itself. Hope this made sense!

One thing I'm still confused about, maybe you can do a whole video on? How do you make sure "good" spirits: benevolent ones, ancestors, the house spirits etc. can move freely in your space, but also set up wards to keep negative or unwelcome ones out? How do the ones you talked about that are just passing thru or attached to the house, etc. get "thru" your wards, and how do I let good-intentioned ones in my own space while also warding it from bad ones? Thx!

I have Sámi heritage (and live in Northern Norway, so having reindeer meat in the freezer is semi-normal), and when I listen to Sámi joik, especially the album "Idjagiedas - In the Hand of the Night" by Mari Boine, I feel the power of my ancestors in my bones. A circle is a form of protection used before casting a spell or really anytime. It’s a great form of protection and usually people use it also when they call the corners/elements. I suggest looking up how to call the corners/elements and how to cast and close a circle. It can be very simple and I try to use something to guide the circle either drawing a circle in salt or even simpler that can be done at anytime would be drawing your circle with a wand ( if you have one of course, you could also you incense smoke or any other object you can make a circle with). Use multiple sources and I wish you the best!

After watching this I did some research on indigenous tribes of my area. I plan on going more in depth with my research and also donating to the active tribes. Its unfortunate that I live in an area where so many cities and street names are from native tribes but the the area was so colonized that the native population is miniscule and a lot of the tribes are now extinct.

I come from another land that is similar. Don't you think that over time we become part of that land too, that we all belong too the land? More than the land might belong to us as people? I do get what you're saying though. Thanks for sharing 😊

OK, cool, what is a bit scary is that I was checking out "Braiding sweetgrass" half an hour before starting to watch this video on goodreads. Cool. 😂👍😉

I try to keep plants but they always die. It's strange. Because the only plants I've kept alive over the years is a spider plant, a mother that spawns more on its own and an ivy plant that grows through some really tough terrain. I couldn't keep cacti alive or any herbs that needed constant watering.

Great video! But I have a quick question though. How do you talk with spirits? How do you ask them things and how do you know what they answer?
