I agree, Haruna is amazing. I used to play and everything about Haruna, from her choices and placement of drums and cymbals to her incredible ability to play at the pace that she does is incredible, unbelievable, top level. Like you this band is my favorite band as of now. I love Lovebites!!! The best band that nobody knows.

I’m in that audience and was right in front of Asami-san and therefore not far from Fami-san. At the time I thought she was troubled by something, but of course I forgot that most, if not all LOVEBITES songs are not played so much as performed. This is her on her best behaviour keeping a straight face to match the mood of the song, which Midori-san is also doing and Miyako’s-san has as a default setting…🙂. I also caught three shows from the Judgement Day tour and I can tell you that Fami-san is filling nobody’s shoes but her own and is a joy to watch on stage. Her energy, enthusiasm and sense of fun has had an uplifting effect on the band and the audience. She’s the best thing to happen to LOVEBITES since they formed.

Fami is a super talented bass player but she has been helped to be noticed more by her runs being louder in the mix compared to the past. She had big shoes to fill but she's doing a great job. She's not Miho, though. And doesn't try to be.

The biggest difference between Miho's playing and Fami's, is tone. Miho's tone cut a little better than Fami's. Fami has a great tone, but you can tell that Miho shaped her tone for years. As for this song, it's awesome, as usual. However, I do have one criticism. It is factual and indisputable, from a production stand point. The last note Asami hit was technically a good note, until two bars past, then it became a bad note. When she hit the last note, the band modulated to a different key, but she didn't. That wouldn't have been an earache, if she had held the note for two bars and slid up to the correct key. If you are a musician, try the slide, and tell me if I'm wrong. As it is, after a few bars, your ear begins to perceive her note as flat. This was more of a composition thing, however, at the end of Judgement day live, she actually did sing a flat note! That's the only time, in all the live songs I've heard, that she ever sang a truly flat note. You can hear her reach for it, but not quit get there. (Judgement Day)

In the early days Asami was SUPER flat on the highs. Almost a screech but has improved considerably over the years. There was no doubt she would adapt to a different singing style. Almost iconic now.

@@ingopek5485 Yes, at first listen, the skills seem to be at the same level. However, that's only because Fami had very little to do with the composition of their latest album. Hopefully, on their next album, she will showcase some of her other techniques. As for the level of skill, wow man. I'm a professional musician/songwriter and producer. I'm 62, and have rubbed shoulders with some fairly successful national acts. I toured for over 15 years from my 20's into my mid 30's. I've never, ever, ever blown smoke up anybodies A hole. Not when it comes to music. In my career, 95% of the songs that I've considered worth someone's time, artist, producers, publishers, managers and execs have found worthy of their time, as well. I say all of that to say, I couldn't disagree with you more. Both of these ladies, Miho-san and Fami-san, in this genre, R&B where Fami-san is concerned, are great musicians. When Miho was in Lovebites, one of the biggest comments received by the rhythm section was how tight and precise they were. Now that Fami is in the band, as you say, nothing has changed, it's still tight. If you still think your analysis is correct, please tag a video and a time stamp, to back up your statement. I'm never too proud to admit when I'm wrong. If you provide evidence, I will certainly admit that you are right.
