I enjoy watching your efficiency in the digital print environment. I retired a dozen years back, but I owned a traditional litho company in Houston for 20 years, that also had a complete in-house digital complement, as well as a full bindery. In fact, anticipating the inevitable due to digital department’s higher profitability, we transitioned to a mostly digital environment, especially with full color eclipsing four color process. But what I wanted to mention was that I also purchased the identical commercial punching machine that you just demoed. It worked acceptably on flatter lithographed work, but most things coming out of the copiers were problematic. We had an expert technician look over the unit and massage it as best he could, but with the heat of digitally produced work, the slightly curved paper, the static from the digital devices, etc, it would inevitably lead to misfeeds or jams. A carton of paper could easily lead to a half dozen jams. As most of our digital work was collated on the copier, this presented a time consuming hassle for our workers. You may be able to alleviate that by punching before collating, but we found that the punched paper tended to stick together as well, when using on offline collating unit. I’m not trying to bring you down. Maybe it will serve you. We were an all Canon and Xerox shop, and perhaps your machines won’t cause as many problems. But I did want you to be aware of what may be an endemic issue. Best of luck! greg

I work in a very busy print shop in the UK and I run 4 Konica Digital machines - Accuriopress c3070 , Accuriopress C6100 with IQ 501 and inline booklet maker, Accurio 6136, Bizhubpro 1100. The IQ501 is a brilliant bit of kit, and we have Konica Minolta Controllers on all presses running Flux ( Brilliant software and colour splitting is really good ) Adobe Acrobat DC pro and Printmanager

@BigALuk33
@BigALuk33 4 жыл бұрын
@@justaprinter The IQ501 is really worth the money. The engineers setup a qualifying sheet (size, backup, screw, zoom, colour) After that you run a setup sheet for the job your printing, save the paper profile and of you go) First two sheets check RGB / CMYK colour then printing marks outside the job monitor position / screw / backup. Any sheets that are wrong are ejected during the run. Been using the IQ for 6mnths and so far I would give it A*. No more Gap adjustments are checking sheet positions. Takes about 30secs to do a paper setup!

I've got a Plockmatic Pro35 off the back end of my Versant180, and absolutely love it. Works like a charm and the fact it does square-back booklets means I can get close to a perfectbound look and flatter booklets in far less time than sending it out for perfect binding. The fact it can also work as an offline bookletmaker is great too for the times when I prefer to trim the top and bottoms of the sheets to bleed and then have it do the facetrim.

You really need a tonneau for your truck. It would add piece of mind that nothing’s leaving you as you go and make the drive more chill. I’ve noticed you looking back in other videos and recognized the look lol. I’ve got a soft trifold on mine but it can be a pain to get small boxes from the front third. Maybe one of those Velcro roll up ones would work well with the loads I’ve seen you with? Just a suggestion.

@@justaprinter They are great for being easy to get on and off. Did you used to have a full hard top? Only real gripe I have is if you are picking up a full bed load of large awkward stuff you have to work it into the load somewhere. If it’s just a large box or lumber I just leave the back clamps off and strap the cover between the bed pockets. They are also cheap enough to be used a bit rough but I’ve had mine for about 10 years now.

I should also say in my case it isn’t 100% waterproof but the little bit that does leak in is limited to the deck and the ridges there are even enough to keep most things dry. My cover is also really cheap.

One thing I would be interested in seeing is how you plan your cuts with different size/format jobs. I just started doing this and find I have trouble with making more than necessary and oddly enough (knowing the size of job and bleeds on the sheet) seem to have problems making the finished cuts the proper size for the whole. Pretty basic, I'm sure, but still something that seems to give me grief.
