Paper grain direction is a big part of bound or folded products. Some people cannot seem to get it right. Example of how not to bind a book. I see this often and its not good!
Almost made it to 300,000 clicks on the new Konica Minolta C3070 Accuriopress before needing new drums and corona wires. I'm happy.
Also diagnosing and repairing an RJ-45 Ethernet connection. Crimp on a new connector and we are back in business. Another day as a print shop business owner.

Tip on doing RJ45 's from a person that does 100's a week. Cut the jacket at about 3/4", use thread to put down approximately 2" This makes sure not to have any scored or cut wires when you cut jacket. Separate the pairs and put in proper order and so they run straight. Then cut exposed wires to the proper length, by doing this all the wires will be the same length and will butt up against the end of connector. Verify wire order before crimp and crimp. Doing this way will give you a good end 99% of the time. Others like the feed through connectors and I have never found them good tried a couple variants. Always a cutting problem. do not cut short enough from some jacks and connector will not fully seat. Good Luck, Until about 10 years ago I was a Konica-Minolta tech and left shortly after the C6500. I eventually became the IT tech for a Authorized dealer and only did that for about 4 years.

Just started a printing shop I got a manual binding machine but is so hard to get used with the right settings ! The thing that i am still failing at is: Where the cover meets the first pages. If i will put more glue the glue will show up and if i don`t put enough the first pages wont stick. Any advise ? Love to se how this is a family business I wish that years from now my kids will love to do the same but on a different level ! Great videos

Thank you! My advice with glue when perfect binding is to rather have too much glue than not enough. I agree it is a fine line and I'm never quite happy with it, always making adjustments. But Id rather have a little to much glue on there than pages falling out. :)

there is a better way for rj45 connectors, have a look at RJ45 Cat6 Pass Through Connectors, you basically pass the 8 wires through the connector and the crimper does the rest, no need to adjust the length perfectly

@@justaprinter You should be able to find them under the EZ-RJ45 name on Amazon. Just be aware you will need a new crimper as well, since there is an extra blade that actually trims off the excess cable at the end of the connector.

As for crimping the end there are several things that you can do to make your life easier. First, strip back an extra inch or so of the outer sheath, this makes it easier to fan the wires out into the correct pattern, and then either trim them back to the right length or second invest in the Easy rj-45 connectors and crimpers, which allow you to pass the conductors through the plug and then trim them as the connector is crimped.
@justaprinter
@justaprinter 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'll have to try that next time.

This reminded me of something I notice every time I open an American softcover: The print goes so far into the fold that it feels I nearly have to rip it apart. Why? Do they want you to crack the spine and throw the book away after reading?
