The saddest thing is Mycroft takes care of Sherlock through every relapse of his drug addiction. But it is heavily implied that Mycroft has a really bad relationship with food and stress eats then immediately loses weight (meaning he's either starving himself or over exercising). Sherlock even has this terrible image of him in his heightened state dream where Mycroft is eating to death. With his knowledge Sherlock could figure this out but he sees Mycroft as the protector. This means that through all those episodes, Mycroft is completely alone where Sherlock has a whole support system

I agree. I think that may be an element of Sherlock’s discussion after returning from the “dead”. Mycroft-“I’m not lonely” Sherlock-“How would you know” I think Sherlock was put in a desperate and prolonged situation of being away from those he cared for, he was also put in the position of protector. He wanted to offer a voice of care to Mycroft (even if it was done in their sibling bickering way) upon maturing through pain and getting a glimpse of Mycroft’s perspective.

Both brothers are well aware of the imagery of false pretense of personality but play it anyways.....the real sick part, each brother realizes they have taken each one side of the same coin.....and play the reverse just as well.....not a competition.....a choice....to be who they define to be....doesn't matter if it's real or not.....that's a brother my friends.

You noticed everyone in the family both siblings loved third sibling so much I mean the psycho one too. Sherlock was the character I too love who's constantly misjudge by society too much and the trauma part was heartwrenching that why he become like that what we know. Sherlock was going through so much that his family supported him.
