I am a huge JBL fan and have multiple products currently. I will say that W-king for the money sounds pretty good. I feel like the JBL has a clear brighter sound. The W-king has a more noticeable neutral sound. Both are a good pick one is more money.

I hardly noticed any difference, and with that, I would opt for the X 20 W-King in my future upgrades (I currently own the D 320), considering its price being almost half that of a JBL and other considerations. Taking this into account, along with the additions it has compared to the JBL Boom Box 3, especially in terms of wattage, the W-King is superior, boasting 250 watts of volume, while the JBL only has 130 watts.

take watts with a grain of salt, especially with "off brand" things like the wking. they very often lie about actual ratings. and it it isnt really "250 watts of volume". watts arent a measure of loudness, decibels are. higher watts can mean higher decibels/volume but can also just be needed to push higher quality speakers to normal volumes without distortion. most importantly watts arent all created equally. a very cheap amplifier putting out 500 watts to a lower quality speaker wont be better than 150 watts to a better quality speaker. it may get a bit louder but will probably have all sorts of issues to get there meaning the sound wont be good. at the end of the day the best audio advice is to simply buy what sounds good to YOU. everyones ears are different and everyones bank accounts are different so get what you like in the budget you are comfy with and be happy with that. the audiophile itch is overly complicated and expensive to scratch.

I like how the W-King has both the handle and carrying strap. And Jbl doesn't give the BoomBox a strap like the extreme. The BoomBox is heavier than the extreme and it will make the arm tired after a while. For the BoomBox, please put a Strap on it JBL.

go take a strap from your old bag / get old bag somewhere & just be creative =D if you wanna just do fast go buy ducktape and roll it in 1 place for both sides of the handle to create "locks" for the strap so it keeps it balance =p

The BB3 runs out of gas at 80% while the W-King holds on all the way up to 100%. You should have extended the comparison to 100%, that would have been funny as heck. At 80% you really hear the harsh peaks at the crossover points. I have heard they fixed that for the $650 WIFI version... I truly believe the W-King has better sound than the BB3 after about 70% or so, even without their odd 10 band EQ. This is the first W-King speaker that REALLY impressed me. It's like they jammed a Partybox 110 into a boombox.

When i was in the philippines, i had a bluetooth speake that i ordered on lazada and and the brand is WKing. Its a rubberized BT speaker and the color is yello orange,and deymmmmm it sounded really great..i got it on a cheap price and im happy for it. But now i donno if it still there in our house. Coz its been 6yrs since i left philippines

Hey man, before watching your comparison video i ordered the x20 because i love the x10 so damn much, in person ive made a man camp gym floor shake over an extreme 3, what are your thoughts on the x10?. I also literally was purchasing an x20 didn't know they made one. Thank you for that! Highs and mids in this case crisper on jbl, but price , battery, type c and overall quality, wking is my pick again i will soon have x20, x10 and the yeti cup sized one that was there first app speaker

the JBL has a slightly brighter sound profile as tested (might be a better comprison to turn bass boost off on the X20) -- this means more sparkle in the highs at lower and mid volumes. The downside of this is some sibilence and harshness at higher volumes. At 80% volume, you can hear the sparkle give way to sibilence, while the X20 maintains its sound and the treble never becomes overly shrill or shrieking. The fact the X20 has an EQ means you can adjust the tuning. This is a huge plus. ("Bass boost" feature is often misunderstood btw. It's essentially a "loudness" switch and is meant to render more low end at lower volumes. At higher volumes I would turn it off for a cleaner sound. ) So while the X20 sounded just *slightly* muddier in this test at 50% volume, it sounded better to me at 80%. Sound qulity will also depend on source matierial, i.e. compression rate of MP3s and bitrate of D/A conversion. Playing lossless files on a high-quqality DAP might sound cleaner and more detailed than low-Q MP3s through a phone. The fact you can EQ the X20 to boost mids or treble could possibly make it aa better unit, because you can build custom sound profiles for whatever type of music you're listening to, as opposed to relying on a preset tuning. The many inputs are a big plus too. A wired or direct input connection generally will have better quality than wireless. Overall, it's hard to justify the JBL's price point considering the X20's customization and ability to accept multiple inputs, not just aux and BT. If you just like brand names and don't care aboit customizing the sound, go with the JBL.

Can you tell me if the W-King X20 has latency in its AUX IN, if you connect a musical instrument there, is it possible to play the instrument connected to the AUX IN, without latency? I know that this model already has a LINE IN for Guitar, but I would like to see if the AUX IN works without latency. I've already tried it on JBL and it doesn't work, JBL's AUX IN has a lot of latency and it's impossible to use it to play an instrument.

I saw a review of an older WKING and that has latency on the AUX.. So it might, yeah. It's probably not a full analogue passthrough, I bet it converts to digital and back to analogue.

I bought a W King D8, with coupon it was like $70 or something. I still can’t believe how loud it gets and good it sounds. I’d pay $150 for this. I have a $175 JBL and it crushes it. I’ve had it over a year and I’m still confused how something for $70 can sound this good and go this loud. I’m an old school JBL lover, but W King beats them on every level.

The BB3 is better for indoor listening while it’s plugged in getting the full 180 watts. The X20 is more well suited for outdoor use due to its detailed mids & highs & good clarity at the loudest volumes. I can say these things because I own both & tried them inside & outside.😅

Update: after I got the X20 I just learned I don’t really know nothing about speakers cuz X20 sounds almost like I’m in the concert but looking forward to buy some JBL so I can compare it myself. I mean I don’t need a lot of speakers but my credit card says otherwise.

Using the bass boost on the X20 muddies up the mids & highs. Turn it off & tune the 10 band EQ appropriately, & even at the loudest of volumes, it’ll leave a smile on your face. I say these things because I own one. It sounds much better for outdoor use as opposed to indoor use.😊

yeh, it's an unscientific test to have one speaker at flat response and the other with bass boost. you can tweak mids and highs on the x20 with the EQ to make it brighter or bring out clarity and detail.

To my ears JBL sound quality is still the standard in this category, but then again my ears are tuned for studio monitors. I think I'd rather just listen to ambient nature sounds than try to enjoy music on a "boom box" like these. But they have some utility, and in terms of utility, W-king seems to have an edge between the two.

Factory default is not the wa6 to go with this Boombox3. It updates when you connect it to the app for it and the sound gets better. If you want to step up with great outdoor sounds, get yourself the Diamondboxx L3 or more.

With a lil tuning i personally like sound of x20 better especially when listening to something like tedeschi trucks band or bands with ton of vocals and instruments goin on... not closed of like the bb3 just way more open and think thats due to the speaker layout no mids behind tweeters like bb3 but only place i think jbl might be better is almost unnoticeable and thats on deep bass other vids show they go toe to toe on how deep they get but what i also love is x20 doesnt need to be fn plugged in to get the best sound it sounds exact same plugged in or unplugged unlike the jbl bb3 its very noticeable whether the bb3 is or not plugged in ... never understand why companies do that lol especially wjen theyre one of biggest on planet will add again tho the wking sounds better without bass boost on hits just as hard if not harder with no muddiness with it off

Lmao! What I'm saying is that i can't fix the fact that you are standing so firm on being incorrect. Dude... You are absolutely wrong. From JBL website "1x 80W RMS-subwoofer + 2x 40W RMS-midrange +2x 20W RMS-tweeter" They even show a diagram with the tweeter placed directly in front of the dynamic drivers. Those are two separate drivers, not one.

I'm sure you can tune the X20 to sound. A little closer to the BB3. I'm gonna go with the pound for pound here.Especially since w king isn't afraid to use big batteries I'm sure the X20 will outlast the BB3 Easily at around sixty percent! Thats literary my number 1 gripe with the BB3 atrocious battery life And this is coming from someone who mostly plays his speakers around 50 and 70%.

Boombox 3 is simply the original thing.. The x20 is an attempt to copy jbl, got the same bass driver, simply useless. I'd rather get the original, with the jbl experience, and no cheap materials For a little more.

Who was the person at JBL who thought that it would not need a shoulder strap? Everyone knows that in today's society it is all about convenience and multitasking. Say for example if I wanted to carry the JBL while cycling from point A to point B? Also JBL need to improve their app. At the same time I would still choose JBL because they have an infrastructure to repair/ service your item if something goes wrong.
