I agree fully. If it was numbers matching, some extremely rare model or something, save it. Otherwise, the modernized restomods (as long as the body stays mostly looking original) is the way to go. Classic looks, modern reliability and comfort.

@@JustDriven No i was responding to @tinystar3010 who was claiming that "the modernized restomods is the way to go" with the old cars. I personally think that its not the way to go and if you dont enjoy old cars for what they are then buy new cars. Very simple. I dont care about your builds, i was just stating my opinion on this subject.

@KD-nb3mp No problem. We suspect you missed the part where @tinystar3010 said, "If it was numbers matching, some extremely rare model or something, save it." We have too much love and respect for the classics to just carve up anything.

Love your builds, and I'm already looking forward to watching you transform this sweet Charger. In the end, you gotta keep the lights on, and if such a restomod is what people are most willing to pay top dollar for, no one can blame you for doing just that. From a historical standpoint, as you've pointed out, there's no shame in tearing up this car, as it's far from being an unmolested original in a sought-after spec. Keep it up guys!

We love both approaches. The classic look is perfection. But it's also nice to look at a beautiful classic car and get in and romp on it with a modern drivetrain!

I love the style of the classic muscle cars but it’s undeniable that modern mechanicals would give a far superior drive, comfort and handling. My all time fave muscle car is the 70-73 Trans Am, really looking forward to seeing how yours comes out. If I had the money I would also go this route - take a lower spec car and turn it into a TA clone with modern mechanicals. I very nearly bought a Firebird to do that once a few years back, but being in the UK makes it so much harder and more expensive with distance, shipping, exchange rates etc. prices are now out of my league so having my dream muscle car will have to remain a dream 😢
@JustDriven

Sorry your dream car has (for the time) slipped away from your grasp. But don't give up. You never know. We have a few cars we lust after but the current landscape for car buying is nuts.

A truly wonderful build. I'm actually glad that it was not disassembled as to keep the classic-vintage look with modern amenities. The fact that it was sold to RestoMods for a giveaway is even better. I know that they have added some of their own special touches to it as well. Now that all that has been added to the life and build makes it worth all the more. I'm truly believing that it will end up in my garage very soon and with all the documentation and videos in it, what a story it has. God bless you all for breathing new life into old classics.

Quality on your builds is second to none. My opinion is that the people that want all original cars are aging out of the market, there probably in there and the next generation dont have the nostalgia and want the style with the performance of a modern car.

For many it's not about racing or getting "smoked" by another car. It's just about owning something that reminds them of a simpler time. A happier time. Now they can have that opportunity but enjoy some modern amenities.

PLEASE READ! ❤ Hello to this very great group that i just found them by searching about 68 charger. I'm from IRAN and i'm really interested about classic cars mostly 60's and when i watched the 68 white charger video series and whatching what you've done with that and turning it to bullitt's 68 charger specially the hubcaps i got really wonderd and i got happy about taking care of this cars in usa as a symbol of the old us cars and what they made at 60's. The first time that i watched bullitt car chase i was 6 and i watch it with my father and i never forget the motor sound and shifting those gears from 68 charger. You and your team are very lovely and worthy. I REALLY HOPING BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM.❤❤ PEACE

I like replicas, but this is not a particularly hard replica to do (aesthetically), so in a way, I don't see the value of preserving it as an easy replica. If there is money to be done converting it into a modernized restomod, then that's a cool project to watch too.

I got a 68, I like original, it’s a Time Machine for me, I’d rather just buy a new chally then molest mine if I wanted a new car feel. They’re not new cars there history, but I understand people want the look and drive like a newer, faster, stopping car. Just don’t make no sense to me when you can buy a new car that way, and those tall rims look ridiculous on a vintage muscle car. Like pimp my ride ir something
@JustDriven
@JustDriven Жыл бұрын
We can't argue with your point. We love the originals also, but we also like and appreciate all things tinkering and modifying. So we will show you examples of both on this channel. Here it stands restored and looking fresh as it did back in 68. We also have to look at the money too...Even people who love the 68 as an original won't give us the money we are into it. Those people want the engine to match the body and this didn't when we bought it.

Thats cool, but it was a v8 car, I know it’s only a 318, it’s weird, they becoming the scares car, and some of the original colors you see from the factory are getting rare, even though it was a white car? Probably the ugliest color car but you don’t see many, it’s strange they made so many but you can rarely see them for sale as other cars, maybe one page, like if you see like Camaros or mustangs you see dozens of pages for sale, just wish when people change a car make the original parts go with the car, chargers are one of the most unique cars ever built in my opinion no we’re on a 68 is the a dodge emblem on the car, it’s in its own class of a car, you just know it’s a dodge……
