Will The Next Eruption Occur on MT. Fagradalsfjall Like The First 3 Eruptions?

This stuffed information pack includes lots of new footage and thermal drone footage as well so enjoy the video. I had to make this little Krafla package as well because it's a location that I plan to cover well in future but the Grindavik events look strange now as for earthquakes so feel free to tell me what you think. It would be excellent if the next eruptions would take place by MT. Fagradalsfjall, but if this long chapter moves any closer to the city, into the Krísuvik system, it would be a major disaster, but we need to prepare for what might hit us. And finally, if I were to guess what volcano will take off next, other than those on the Reykjanes Peninsula, I would say Askja for sure, but I might change my mind if the earthquakes patterns changes of course.

Living in the Southern Hemisphere your long panning shots are very interesting. Both alien to my experience and curiously similar. The temperatures limit plant growth. Soil disruption takes years to heal. And the colours of yellow and red are so much like central Australia. Thank you for your work, skills and sharing.

Gylfi, you have s great talent for filming beauty in "badlands." It's a word that is used in the American west to describe desert areas made from sedentary rocks, where there is little growth, but shapes are exposed by wind and water erosion carves interesting shapes in the harder rock. I hope that someday you can come film it, but it sounds like you have your hands full. I remember people climbing "Big Ram" to film the first eruption. Stay safe out there in Hell.

Another great video. The Krafla system is impressive. Too bad we did not have drones 40 years ago. I assume someone took movies from airplanes or helicopters back then, but those are so much more expensive to operate so there is probably little coverage. You have the background footage almost everywhere now, so you are ready the next time one of these volcanic systems starts erupting!

Thank you for your informative views on the different areas of Iceland. After the Litli Hrutur eruption, LivefromIceland had a camera looking across the valley with Keilir to the right. I was fascinated in watching the steam rising from cracks in the foreground. Now the camera has gone, so I can't see if it's still steaming. Now, there is a swarm of earthquakes in the vicinity. Perhaps next time you're there with your thermal drone, it might show something.

Thank you again for the wonderful footage and the update. I'm one of those foreigners who take a daily look at the quake status and GPS data and I've seen the unrest. Would it be possible to show a map of the ancient caldera near Kleifarvatn? It is tempting to see old calderas in any lake with more or less circular boundaries, but in most cases that will be just imagination 😉.

Politicians don't want to see those risks and are only interested in their own prestige. 'Look what I created'. And few years later, they're replaced and nobody hears from them again.
