@@florencembah2626 it’s probably really creepy because they are strangers to him. this is why commodifying yourself in such a public eye can be dangerous. when we work we all commodify ourselves to some degree, but fame is really unique because people are more likely to know you. famous people don’t have the same luxury of clocking out of work and having uninterrupted time from work. for famous people like justin bieber, the moment they “clock out,” they are are constantly presented with scenarios and situations that they would experience normally when working. when they’re not working, they experience the same treatment, being expected to perform socially all the time. they are basically seen as working all the time to fans because they probably feel like they will never get to meet him anywhere besides a particular moment in time. then there are creepy people who show up at their house waiting for them to come home. but i also understand they’re really rich, so the financial and accessibility to basic necessities and struggles that average people might face are in no way equal to rich people’s struggles. it’s definitely two extremes. would people rather be rich and give up anonymity or be lower or middle class and be anonymous to freely walk outside without people interrupting you while you go to pump gas or pick up laundry detergent, etc.
