Let's say your personal time is worth money and we know equipment costs money. Paying for help getting started is worth it with those things considered (self teaching slows progression and breaks equipment). Self-teaching requires a lot of time investment and is stressful in that you don't know what you don't know. I self taught and don't recommend it because like I said, the cost of training is worth it and is valuable.
