Justin Hayward exudes humility and is a musician of the highest caliber. He has consistently praised other musicians and their work throughout his career. However his songs, guitar playing, and his voice are all in a league of their own. Any one single emotion has many facets and Justin has always been able to weave those feelings into his songs. For me, Justin is the single best musician that this planet will ever know. I wish him much love and all the best. 💙💙

@@senamartinec7328 if one is to evaluate things based on all facts, one must remember Mike’s leaving the band and how that affected Justin. It had to hurt. And as talented as they were, they still had to find a way to keep going without Mike’s input on anything.

The Moodies were/are a great group. Justin (and John, Mike, Ray and Graeme, Denny on the first album) wrote some absolutely majestic songs, and their re-emergence in the mid-80s was outstanding. There are some live performances that make this music even more powerful. Absolutely top shelf.

The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: I saw the Moody Blues in Kansas City in 1999, with a full orchestra, and it was an absolutely amazing spiritual experience! I WAS LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY, and had tears streaming down my face. I'm a 1970's rock and roller who has seen many many major concerts, but this was something else! And the way I got tickets is a miracle in and of itself. The day before the Moody Blues concert I had gone to see an all female concert that included Cheryl Crow and the Dixie Chicks and others. (I believe they called it "the Liz Phair concert.") When we went to leave after the concert, my car battery was dead. I opened the hood and saw that my alternator belt had broken on the trip up, so we couldn't just jump the battery. I called my sister who lives in KC (I do not, I live 120 miles away) and I stayed the night at her house. I also called my retired dad, and he brought up a new alternator belt and a fresh battery. The next day I was in the Sandstone (outdoor venue) parking lot replacing the belt (there were no other cars in that huge parking lot) when suddenly a car drives up to me and the driver asks, "Hey, do you guys want free tickets to see the Moody Blues tonight?" I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS CONCERT! I nabbed those two tickets quickly, and the rest is history. GOD is so active in my life that I had no doubt Who was behind this! And GOD had literally spoken to me through the Moody Blues once before, on the radio, using the song "Nights in White Satin"....but that's another story. The Moody Blues. I wish I could share what I know with the band members. And perhaps they shall indeed hear my testimony in the coming years, when GOD puts me on the world stage. (See the Bible's Book of Revelation Chapter 11.) All mysteries have already been unveiled and published in these "end times": the end of the old Cycle of Time that the New Cycle may be born. And those who seek shall indeed find.

Justin contradicts himself quite a bit, what a cold comment about mike pinder,other/past interviews iv'e seen and heard justin mention mike he says thi gs like he misses mike and his music, and how mike was the first contact with mike,ti me now i find justin quietly arrogant and cold towards the moody band members, inc john lodge even now, will always live his music, and have done so since 1970 as a 10 year old,but it saddens me when he shows this indifference towards mike and john,to be honest justins voice is not that great anymore,he had a majestic voice at his peak, but even his songwriting is below par of his past brilliance,it saddens me to say these things😥,but i'm really disappointed with his attitude toward mike,"not his friend'????🤔

Justin's voice sounded pretty good in a KZbin video from last year in Ontario. I'm very much looking forward to seeing him in Massachusetts a week from tonight. However, though we'll never know the interpersonal relations amongst the band members, it is disappointing how Mike's memory was brushed off, not to mention how he was treated at the Hall of Fame induction.

@@charlesbaran1106 You’re in for quite a treat. We saw Justin one week ago in Derry NH and the concert was nothing short of spectacular! His voice sounded absolutely amazing. What I took away from this interview was Justin’s candor and honesty not to mention his humility. Regarding the RRHF and Mike Pinder, his wife posted a statement that Mike made that should hopefully clear up any doubts or negative misconceptions regarding that event. But you are absolutely correct, we’ll never know about the Moody’s interpersonal relationships. All I know is like thousands of other people I’m a huge fan and I will always have a special place in my heart for each and every one of them. Enjoy your concert!

Thanks for your comments. I opted for one of the shows with Mike Dawes opening instead of Christopher Cross, in hopes of more time with Justin. I will also be seeing John Lodge this month. As for John’s voice, let’s just say that he won’t be hitting the high notes! It’s a pity that the two of them, whose paths are crossing in NY State, won’t appear together. I’ve seen the Moodies many times in four states late ‘70s onward (too late for Mike, alas). The group was always greater than the sum of its parts. Like CSNY, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, etc., it’s better with multiple writers and vocalists. One of the other commentators cited Mike’s gentlemanly statement about the RRHF event, time running short, yet Graeme spoke twice. I seem to recall Justin moving Mike away from the mic when he was about to speak. And, of course, Mike was left out of the live performance. You and I, with countless others, can still enjoy the individuals and the group, especially through the magic of KZbin.

For many of us original fans, Mike Pinder is revered. We will never truly know just how much he contributed to the songs on the early albums, but it is clear from past comments by Justin that he relied on Mike a great deal. Hell, Nights in White Satin was just nice words on a piece of paper until Mike sat at the Mellotron and said, how about this and the song came to life. Band members don’t have to be good friends with each other, but you should damn well give someone credit for his contributions.
