Great episode. Would be interested in hearing how he pulled himself out of the mental rut in his early 20s and how he addressed the lasting effects from his head injuries. Going through the same things right now with being 2.5 years out from a tbi and in my early 20s as well.

Non seeded practice is one of my favorite parts of supercross. Shows how hard the sport and tracks really are. I yell at my tv when they play commercials or industry “specials” over non seeded qualifying. Watching a dude be 4-6 seconds off the best in the world, but he’s on a roached out bike, been living in a van for months, huffing 50/50 cut race gas, flirting with homelessness. Risking his life to make top 40 has an extremely high entertainment value to me. And I think they more than deserve the 28 minutes of Race day live tv time.

I'd be very surprised if it actually says that verbiage in the contract verbatim they just want to keep their sponsor happy because they're probably complaining and they want them to re-up for next year to give the series more money. Look at WWE and how they do NXT the developmental program. They have there main roster Raw and Smackdown think of that as east and west They travel and perform then they have NXT they don't travel but a few times a year where they piggy back another event. They have a dedicated venue where they do all the events out of. Feld could have a dedicated supercross Futures giving them a full season maybe even have 2 groups running one group one week and other next week but do it all in same building and do track changes after 2 weeks then have 3 round playoff or a one round shootout and have that be live at a premiere stadium. Then use that to feed the main series. But maybe rename it and allow people at the bottom of the main series go down to race if needed.

To add to your minor league racing. So if minor league bikes would be capped on modifications . Would major league bikes be actually factory bikes? Or do you think this would start another one of those big teams would obviously run away with being able to develop these parts? I think back to what Grant Langston talked about his factory KTM bike was a true factory bike compared to the bikes the US were aloud to race.
