I loved this episode. I am just like Martin's wife because ever since I was in high school (2008) when I took a Home Economic class which included interior decorating class I am always rearranging my living room furniture. My mom and I just had this conversation she said she used to get so mad when she would come home from work and the house would be completely rearranged lol

Although I am from NJ and we don't pump our own gas here, when traveling, I ALWAYS take the gas pump to .00 with the dollar amount. Doesn't take much time either. And for what it's worth, best gas station to spend time at is Buc'ees hands down.

This video pointed out something very important. Just because you have an urge doesn't mean you should follow through with it. Thank you Duck Call Room. You are entertaining us and also teaching good common sense. Now I will share one idiosyncrasy I have. If I am making a grilled cheese sandwich on the flat top skillet and I use american and swiss cheese, I will put two pieces of bread on skillet and then put one slice of each cheese on the 2 pieces of bread. For some insane reason the american cheese side has to be on the left side and the swiss cheese has to be on the right side. One time I put it on the opposite, saw it, and had to switch the sides back to being correct. After I did it I thought, "why in the world do I care about this so much?"

I'm with Martin - except on pumping gas I like it to be in increments of .25. When tipping at a restaurant, I like the decimals to be .00. If I tie one shoe, I have to tie the other shoe. Can't stand one being tight and one loose.

It’s not about money because for them it’s an excuse to get together as family and friends. It sounds like they don’t care whether they win/lose, they’re more interested in relationships. “If it starts being about the money…” I’ll finish it for him…”we gone.” They may play with more money than some would be comfortable with but they aren’t playing with rent money or college funds or anything else but that doesn’t even matter. It’s not my place to judge anyone for anything, it’s my job to love and support others. BTW, we could argue about whether poker is gambling or not- there ARE professional poker players who earn a living and have done so for decades for a reason and it ain’t luck. But it sounds like it is definitely gambling for them…when he called on a one-outer… that’s 100% gambling but again, it doesn’t matter either way because it’s not my place to judge their actions, intentions or hearts. As they described their games, it sounds like they invite others, they laugh a lot, drink a lot of sweet tea and that’s how they get together as a covenant group/bible study. Not that this matters either because that isn’t my job. My job is to work on me and serve, that’s it. I’d go in a SECOND if invited because they sure sound like they’re living like I wish I could, keeping what matters front and center and nothing else matters that much. I get caught up in all sorts of stuff that creates a constant sense of stress and anxiety and that means I’m not prioritizing correctly. It means I’m still not giving everything up and that’s the real goal- to live in a way that I’m completely dependent on Jesus and following as best as I can. I just naturally take responsibility and even though I know better I still act like I’m running the show and it’s exhausting. Having a weekly or monthly poker game where the money doesn’t matter but the people who are there does, a group of guys are trying to get the best of each other with a deck of cards and chips while constantly teasing each other while moving in and out of personal spiritual and important stuff…that’s a group who has their priorities straight. Just look at them…they don’t take anything serious except for the stuff that matters. I wish I was still a part of a group that knows each other that well, who loves Jesus and each other- that’s who we all ought to strive to be. Priorities is what it’s all about.

I am a baptist pastor and am only half way through the video. Men should be leaders in the home. Women should follow the general direction her husband is leading. Leadership doesn't mean one is a bully. Leadership is hearing the Lord and His Voice and saying to his family, "We are going in this direction". I work for a Marriott hotel that has a market. But I have been told that every Marriott on the planet only sales Pepsi product.
