The guy is a complete creep regardless of how you try to rationalize and justify it by hiding behind the "innocent til proven guilty" line by things he's definitively caught doing. I will say when it comes to someone using there actual voice it's much easier to change it around then a voice actor that changes voices. Same with Kristen Schaal and Bobby Moynihan, they use that voice every day and it's not fake so changing intonations is far easier then a voice you've come up for a specific character. Of course It can be done but it's often not fair to compare the two. Cause lets face it I like Patrick Warburton's preformances but your always going to associate it with whatever you heard first, for me every one of his preformaces are just variations of Kronk (Ken is angry Kronk)

Cam Clarke is a VA who gets some flack for his voice, but given his track record of characters he's voiced over the decades, you can see the personality he can provide for each character he voices. Liquid Snake, Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles even the fucking ferret thing from Barnyard, I had no idea he was voiced by him until now. Even doing the voice for Simba in the Kingdom Hearts games. I would say Justin Roiland has three (maybe four depending on how to count then) voices. The first two, Rick and Morty, are never changed no matter what the show or property is. The third is his normal voice, just a little more goofy (think Mr Meseeks or ants in the eyes johnson). I say maybe four because there is an argument that slightly silly Roiland voice and very silly Roiland voice are different. I think his default Mr Poopybutthole voice is fine for most projects, but it is always obvious that it is him when he does it. The reason it bothers me is not that it is distracting but anytime he talks about his voices in other projects, he describes creating the voice from scratch

Patrick Warburton is another good example of a voice actor that uses the same voice, but has a great acting range. He plays Joe from Family Guy, Brock Sampson from Venture Bros and Buzz Lightyear from the Adventures of Star Command. All of which are 3 manly guys, but other than that, they have completely different personalities.

Dee bradly baker is the best example of a voice actor being able to do the same character and make it work. His voice acting on the clone wars is amazing because he can actually make the clones sound different. The bad batch is honestly really impressive when it’s just them on screen cause they actually sound different!

If you're looking for someone from Rick and Morty with great voice acting, the dog from the first season is none other than Rob Paulson, the voice of Yakko and Pinky. I saw him in concert and he shows exactly what a great voice actor does. Its not the range that makes him great, its how he GETS into character rather than just reading lines and uses emotion.

I have been saying this about Justin Roiland for years. “Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist” really highlights how terrible his voice acting is. For those not in the know, if you play the game a second time, you can listen to cassette tapes that act as audio logs. Justin does all the voices. Most of them sound like Morty. However, he tries to do a Tommy Wiseau impression but sounds French (which is ironic given Wiseau’s hatred of the French).

I think a good example of a voice actor who doesn’t have that much range but is still really good is Bryce Papenbrook. The moment you hear some sort of raspy some what high-pitched voice from a character (usually the MC), automatically you know it’s him. But the best part is that he’s able to give his characters such a distinct personality that he’s able to get away with it. ie: Eren Jäeger from AOT and Meliodas and Love Helm from Seven deadly sins

If Justin Rolland’s a one trick pony, then Brandon Rodgers is a point one pony, because in the words of one of his characters, he’s the same asshole he woke up as, but I still think he’s a great actor, just like I think Justin Rolland’s a better actor than he is as a world builder/ writer.
