The KJV was not "officially" authorized, but it was approved by all the Bishops of the Church of England, a de facto "authorization." Unfortunately, Prof. Ryken endorses the Westcott-Hort theory of the NT Text. He claims that the KJV is "not based on the best manuscripts" (The Word of God in English, p. 284), a claim that has been made by liberal Text Critics for over a century. Were Prof. Ryken to declare the KJV superior in its manuscript foundation, he would be an ex-professor at Wheaton.

Everything Mr.Ryken said up to the 9:57 mark was right on. Then he took a sudden left turn off into a ditch and the wheels came off. The ESV is one of the new Vatican Versions and does not at all follow in the same Traditional texts of the King James Bible. Don't believe it? See for yourself in black and white examples.
