In my opinion, most of Stapleton's live versions are "better" (I like them more). The exception, from what I've heard, is "Cold"...recorded with orchestra. Live shows don't bring that for pretty much one song in a set. UPDATE 11/4/21 ... Have to amend my comment. Ran across video of him performing "Cold" live at Madison Square Garden. It's absolutely great and I do like it more than the recorded version. It is on KZbin. Sorry don't have the link to provide here.

It charted at number 9 in billboard hot 100. I think that is quite an accomplishment.Many other great songs didn't even make the top 40 let alone top 10. So it definitely had airplay and sales to back it up as that is how billboard charts are compiled. Great song and glad it made the top 10.

His music has soul. Something which most mainstream country musicians seem to have lost and also seems to be a large portion of why many people dislike country music so strongly. I think Chris Stapleton has a certain quality which attracts both old school country fans and pop fans alike, especially being such good friends with Justin who's from Nashville.

Chris Stapleton is great. But not a overnight success. He went to Nashville in 2001 and signed a deal to write songs the 1st week. He has wrote songs for George Strait to Adele. He has 5 Grammys, 7 ACM's and 7 CMA's. He co-wrote this song with Justin. He finally broke through the writing to becoming a singer. I love his blues sound. They need are great together.
