I broke up with my boyfriend (would have been fiance/husband) a few months ago. We were dating for almost 4 years and in a LDR. It sounds naive but he was the first person I'd dated and fallen in love with and we both wanted to get married but I had found out he had been lying about something massive that altered our relationship and I had to end it. We ended on good terms but I still feel the pain of not having my best friend in my life anymore. When this song first came out I knew instantly it would have been our wedding song. Each lyric rang true to the love we had. I couldn't stop listening / crying to this song. When I first heard your cover of this, instead of feeling sad and heartbroken all over again, I felt a sense of hope and light. You turned this beautifully destructive and painful song for me into a song that resembles a breath of fresh air. I know only time can heal a broken heart and sometimes that isn't even good enough, but thank you for helping me along the way.

your patronus omg, this happened to me too. It was just a year, but it felt like a long time. Ldr are not easy and we were trying our best, but it was painful not seeing him. We went to Ed sheeran 's concert 2 months ago and this song was OUR song, we dedicated it to each other. We broke up a month ago and it still hurts, specially listening to this song. Hopefully pain will go away and the memory of the best moment of my life will stay. This cover makes me feel warmer ☺️ Ps. Sorry for my English Ps2. Sometimes it's better to end things to stop hurting. Hope you feel better soon ❤️

I have just started on my journey to try & teach myself to play the Saxophone, I have been a drummer for over 35 years now, this is a song I have started to learn & I hope one day I will be able to make it sound something like this...
