Maria dj You need to watch my videos because the answers are all in there. PSW’s are unregulated in Ontario, We do not have a governing body like nurses. We have been working on that for a very long time, to become self government in order to be treated as equals, there is OPSWA Which stands for Ontario personal support worker organization Ontario Which is run by Miranda Ferria Look them up. To answer your question Personal support in Ontario Work for their respective home care companies that they get hired for, the clients are provided by LHIN, which stands for light Integrated network Ontario Case managers are all nurses, they do the assessments for clients either in their homes when they called them or in the hospital when they end up there they then provide a plan of action with your signed off by their family physician, which then the file is assigned to the home care company that they designate it to you, and then we do the rest of the work it’s like a sub contracting thing, because all the homecare companies have all the field nurses and PSW’s. My boss who is an rpn reports back any changes in client condition from what we observed. The case workers are RNs

I'm a psw because I'm interested in it. I value your opinion. It was hard job ias I had worked in long term care. I experienced hardships and a lot of pressure eventually being let go. I ended up being unsure of my ability as a Psw after that experience. Home care seems much been suited for my personality and agency I work for is nice to work with regardless that I get paid $16. Just need to use my education.
